Such a perfect drama! Who had ever thought.. I was reluctant to watch because of the BL element but a 9.3... so my curiosity won. BL genre is not my cup of tea but the love between our main leads made me cry. Both characters are so beautiful on the inside and complement eachother perfectly. The sweet moments gave me butterflies. Especially Lan Zhan showed his love so clearly through always protecting and taking care of WWX. His looks, gentle piano playing to calm WWX, fetching him wine etc. The suppressed love that could not be said out loud or when he could not be with WWX. Lan Zhan's character reminds me of Mo Yuan in TMOPB.
I'm helping to sub the drama on YT, but it's all volunteer work (we also have no control over when Croton uploads…
I doubt whether they really spoke like this in historical china but it's the language used in historical/wuxia dramas. luckily I watched a lot of these when I was young albeit in Cantonese. but a lot of expressions are same in mandarin. my brother in law who lives in china sometimes even doesn't understand because he never watched historical dramas.
Just watched ep 37-38. Totally love the GoW!!! He can be so funny and childish in his own dorky way. I had no idea that could go together with the stoic and reserved god that he is as well. great casting and great acting!
The uncut version contains so many more scenes, I can't judge whether they are vital or not (as I have only just…
thank you! i finished this drama. I loved the beginning and ending. the middle part felt so different, too many fillers and just a few really sweet moments. limited skinship for a married couple
Love this drama so far. I binged all the eps on Youtube (26 eps). without sub. I need to rewatch some of the confusing scenes though I doubt whether subs will help. I wasn't sure about the leads/otp in the beginning but they are sweet and cute. GoW is funny in his own totally dorky way. The guy has humour and I'm glad! I'm not (yet) annoyed by Ni Ni's character in the first few eps (only focusing on GoW, subservient) because that leaves room for character development (I hope so). There are a few things that does bother me. It copies elements of TMOPB too much, and I don't mean only the 3L3W thing, but fails to create the same heart wrenching effect in the first arc (maybe it's me as I didn't feel the massive tragedy in Goodbye my Princess either...) Also, this drama makes the immortal world so mortal. They care so much about status and ego, just like humans. TMOPB felt so different in this respect. Another thing is that the GoW loving LX is so abrupt. Overall I love it so far, definitely binge watching material.
Can someone please tell me what the difference is between the cut and uncut version? I am watching the cut and subbed version now (ep 7). I don't feel like rewatching the first few eps. I don't know if in the latter eps the uncut version also has additional scenes?
