It was actually after finding out about role reversal that I delved into asian dramas, my first being The Romance of Tiger and Rose set in a matriarchy.

I have since then dedicated myself to make a curated Role Reversal recommendation list (based on this masterlist) detailing the role reversal present (or not) in asian dramas & movies ^-^

Drama watching habits.

I'm a mood watcher which means I can only watch a certain something if I'm in the mood for it. Forcing myself to watch something I'm not in the mood for is excruciating but I do it more than I care to admit ;-; It's a work in progress

Spoilers surprisingly don't affect me much and I like to do quite some investigating before committing to a drama. Especially a longer one.

I don't like dropping dramas but I'm learning to do it more.

Sci-Fi | Fantasy | Thriller | Action | Romance

Likes:

Strong/badass female lead, soft/kind male lead, morally grey characters, magical world, gender role reversal, bromance/sismance, found family, action, mother-son dynamics, sibling bonds, healthy mains relationship, sci-fi, protective women, happy endings, whump, romance + action, similars attract, girlboss x malewife, car chases/chase scenes, memorable OSTs, disability representation, high stakes, slight horror, wacky/unusual plots

Rating System

10 - Perfection

Whatever is off doesn't take away from the experience.

9.5 - Amazing

Near-perfect, usually have a couple of things that are off

9.0 - Great

I really enjoyed but had some unfortunate less great things

8.5 - Very Good
Above average good

7.5-8 - Average/Good

Quite a bit of things are off but they still have enough good things

6-7 - Alright
More off things than good things
4-5.5 - Meh
Fine for what it was / Disappointing waste of potential
1-3.5 -No
I really shouldn't have finished it

Short length series are often rated with budget limitations in mind.

Dislikes:

Amnesia in romance, weak/dumb female leads, needless misunderstandings, love triangles, domineering/possessive/red-flag male leads (love interests), overpowered male leads, melodrama, damsels in distress, all-male cast, tragedy, embarrassment and toilet humour, random childhood connection, bait-and-switch, doormat FLs, 'healing' dramas that are just about being a doormat, highschool/youth setting, faking disability, mafia/gang kdramas
