Yes there will be a season 2 since the story is incomplete but I have heard that they have reduced the number of episodes due to some new guidelines. I just started the novel while drama is still ongoing. I do agree with your point that certain decisions taken by FL are pretty questionable. I won't be putting this drama in 10/10 category either ( which right now only belongs to Love Like The Galaxy at least for me). And some of the questions regarding devil god that you have raised are actually explained later in the drama (probably in 36th episode if I am not wrong) and his explanation does make sense. They did not leave it just like that an evil is evil no reasoning is allowed. They really explained his pov. Now comparing it to the novel. There is a huuuuuge difference in both the storylines. You will hate and despise the ML of book while sympathize and feel anger for ML. He is total psychopath in book where FL's decisions make much more sense and they used FL's character as it is in the drama. What went wrong was the storyline for ML. He became a much better character and was showing feelings yet it was mentioned he could not feel anything!! I think they did it because it was hard for the makers to represent the original Tantaijin in the drama due to censorship and more than that it is nauseating to see such a ML in the story. I despised his character from the book but found myself sympathising with him in drama. Now Su Su's actions look wrong and stupid though they are right according to novel. She doesn't sympathize him in novel but only pretends to sympathize so he could develop his love threads. (He is a damn pervert in book).
The scene which you mentioned was same in the book but they changed it by saying SangJiu forced herself on MingYe as she was leaving him and she was in love and what not however in novel she needed some artefact which was needed to help her clan but Ming ye was so heartless amd adamant on saving Tian Hua that he refuses and Sang Jiu could only take that out from him through this method and was ready to sacrifice everything. (Though it still looks wrong but in drama it looked much worse as the reasoning was so lame there.) In novel ML's childhood was much more miserable. They only showed he was bullied in drama but they couldn't mention all the pedophile eunuchs, princes and ruthless people around him due to censorship. He wasn't a normal person as he enjoyed killing and tormenting since his childhood. You won't sympathize with him in novel at all. I have read more than half of the novel and FL has no sympathy towards ML and ML has no feelings except his obsession for FL as she was the who saved him again and again while calling him enemy but other betrayed him behaving his benefactor. I don't know how it will turn out in later chapters as of now she doesn't like anything about him. She only saves him in mortal arc as his bone needs to be removed first and for that he needs to develop feelings first. It is breather actually to see less disgusting and pitiable ML in drama tbh.

I have seen this recent trend of splitting the dramas in two seasons in Chinese dramas a lot. But the good thing is that they don't take too much haitus in releasing another season. Sometimes they air it within two to three days. I can't believe this is happening with Korean dramas as well, especially when they have filmed the whole show already. 😪 Can't believe we all have to wait for two months (approx) to watch another half.

Far far better than Penthouse. I have watched Skycastle twice and I can still watch it again. I remember it was amongst the top three of highest rated kdrama for a long time. Plus You will see many familiar faces if you are into Kdramas a lot. I just love the storyline and acting of that show. Definitely worth watching.

Completely agree. I have seen many shows with similar ending. The recent one which comes to mind is Blue whispers. They just leave it like that! Without any remorse for their actions. It is like their is no Karma for them. All the hardships are meant for the main leads. They face the music for all the actions. Take that Supreme God for instance, he was left like that without any character development. Not an ounce of guilt he had. That is the main issue I see in most of the Cdrams they don't seem to take much interest in side characters or even if they do, it will only be for few characters for the rest they just forget about them. Atleast there was one show where I felt bad ones really had a character development ( to some extent) - Love and Redemption.

Can anyone pls tell me what's the deal with discord server of madmansubs. Because I cannot understand what's the process to get access there. Even after completing all the things they will say rejected. I am thankful for them that they are providing free subs for the viewers but I just cannot understand the whole procedure.

Haha this show is not supposed to be watched liked that. Otherwise you will end up destroying half of your brain cells. Plus you will end up really sad thinking about poor Fang lan who still exist in other timeline who lost his Xiaoqi on his wedding day and now in other timeline is in love with other Fanglen😓
