Youku has moved the drama to the top of its' "upcoming list". It's looking very good for an early May or even…
Tonight? As far as I can tell, the articles posted in the last few days (Chinese ones) seem to predict early May. Youku's "broadcast date" section is still blank, also only as far as I can tell. But then again, I've always had a ghastly time trying to navigate both Youku and Tencent so... I clearly need to learn a better variety of Chinese so that I can find drama information lol.
The first episode is much more like The Game Toward Zero than WYWS, but it seems like it's going in a slightly different direction. I prefer the ML's personality in this so far, too.
Sounds like a lot of his projects might be dropping him and his current ones are on hold...but we will see. Doesn't…
I'm not an anti. Trust me, I'm not. I don't know if you can check these things, but I've given The Untamed 10/10 here and on Douban and such. This is just what the articles in English and a few in Indonesian have been saying in the last few days. All of them have been saying largely the same thing, so I figured there must be truth behind them. I checked as many as I could find. If anything, it is my worry for Xiao Zhan that lead me to post the information from those news articles without attempting to cross check with Chinese sources, though I don't know much Chinese or many Chinese websites. Worry can make people act rashly, so I sincerely apologize for any misinformation. Do you know any way for me to access more reliable information regarding what is happening? I would be ever so grateful if I had concrete proof to set my heart at ease. International sources don't seem to cut it, especially since it's obvious he's super popular worldwide and will be regardless of what occurs in China. It's China that I'm worried about. Once again, I apologize for quoting things from potentially misinformed news articles out of worry.

Well, companies are there for profit, so they have to try to decide whether people won't watch their shows or will down vote their shows because of it. As I am a Xiao Zhan fan, I'm hoping he'll still be in Douluo Continent (I don't how production has progressed) due to its widespread popularity and that this show goes well (assuming it gets released). I think if these two succeed, he'll be able to largely recover. And prove to those uncertain that he's still profitable.
Same sis :( My heart hurts seeing this situation. I hope he'll stay strong and don't kneel before the haters...Maybe…
It was one of his fellow actors that said on social media in his defense that his maternal grandfather passed away on March 2nd. It hasn't been officially confirmed, I don't think, but that seems at least decently reliable.
Anyone know why this 2017 drama hasn't aired yet? Did the producers or an actor offend the CCP or something? Money…
It's a combination of trying to pass the censors (China is especially specific about historical dramas) and trying to get a broadcasting station and time slot. These two things often delay dramas for a year or two. Most recently, I heard they'd been doing massive edit haul-overs and potentially more filming in order to give Xiao Zhan a better spotlight so they can ride on his Untamed popularity. So that just delayed it more. And then I'm sure they had to get that checked through the censors again... But they are all done with that stuff now, so it should be coming out in the next few months. Especially since Coronavirus has delayed currently-filming dramas, so they might have to air the already-filmed dramas that have been stuck in the lineup. We should be good, as long as China's new 40 episode season limit doesn't affect the shows already waiting to broadcast.
I've seen the first ten episodes. Normally, I really don't watch shows for the romantic relationships, but I actually like this one! The show is a great mix of romance, comedy, mystery (both the overall plot and the individual cases) and action. Yes, the ML doesn't have many expressions, but that is the character, and you can tell he cares for the FL by his actions. Also, as per the C-drama pattern, the first episode is really the set-up episode, so watch at least 2 before you decide whether to keep going. So, yeah, I have thus far liked the first quarter quite a bit!
I don't know...I'm busy translating other Chinese novels lol, and I'm not good at period translation, just modern setting translation...Otherwise I would do it myself!
Hmm if it not going by novel going to be disappointed it could be like untamed as censored but a girl ouch to…
As far as I can tell from the google translated first six episodes (which I will have the delight of rewatching when there's a better translation), they aren't even hinting at any of the original BL content like they do in Untamed, Guardian and SCI... However, there is great bromance with Prince Chongliming and his group when they appear. None yet between the two MCs, but that makes sense so far, story-wise. Honestly, I'm mostly just enjoying their over-the-top fancy clothes and hairstyles...and those boots. And guyliner (totally a thing in the early 1900s). Since I can only figure out maybe half of what's actually going on with the google translate...

Here's the newest translator (Me!):

There aren't terribly many chapters yet, but as far as I can tell the other translations are pretty much Google Translate XD
A great example of this is Forward Forever. Even last week, the page still said Dec 31, but oh look, now there are six episodes out haha...
