Yeah, i was trying to find the post too. I was hoping to ask them to post it on the discussion instead of comments. Here, once it gets burried, very difficult to find.

The problem with Chinese dramas is we don't have access to news, forums, tidbits, and social media posts unless we speak or read Chinese.

WeTV, IQIY, and Youku Int have only in recent years tapped into international viewers by providing subtitles. Before that, the closest we got was VIKI, fan translations. Because Chinese dramas tend to go for dozens of episodes, it takes forever for a Chinese drama to get fully subbed if not dropped altogether.

Korean international viewers back in the day relied on English forums like Soompi. A very small percentage of the post relates to Chinese dramas.

No English media language covered Chinese entertainment as they do with the Korean entertainment world. We have so many now for Korean, like Koreaboo and the like.

I do wish, Chinese dramas get more international exposure. If not, maybe MDL can be the Soompi version of Chinese dramas. But we need more people to translate Chinese info to English and post here.
