The open ending at the end of ep.40. With the extension or alternate ending.

First of all, there's no chance of it being an imagination. The time jump, FDB, and DFS riding to the beach finding LLH. If it was supposed to be an imagination, whose imagination? Why the time jump? It was 3 months after he was supposed to die. But he's alive.

LLH might die right after meeting his 2 friends, they might continue their adventure while seeking a cure. Etc etc. Hence the open ending.

I myself like the open ending. It is acceptable to me. I believe forcing a happy ending where LLH is cured would be ruining the story. We have 40 episodes worth of story where our Hero is dying of poison so deadly there's no antidote for it. To have a miraculous perfectly timed cure might be pushing it.

I realize everybody has their preference for the ending.

But for me, it is perfect as it is. I would've hated it if it ended in ep 40. The bonus scene gave me the happy ending I want. I now know, whatever happened to LLH. He has his 2 friends by his side and his loyal companion Fox Spirit. That is all he needs.
