As for the Patois accent I definitely think it’s important to showcase it, but with Chinese I think it could differ. Yes, there should be diversity, there are times where the context doesn’t fit it. I also think that there are times where the Chinese accent diversity should be more prevalent.
I think I’m English dialects dubbing to a different or standard dialect would be unacceptable, but less for Chinese accents.

I’m not saying that everything should be dubbed with a Beijing accent, but when the accent doesn't fit into the context then there are benefits to dubbing.
I think that dubbing could also be useful in bringing other dialects in as well! Like if a setting was full of diversity, you could try to use dubbing to diversify the people. It might be hard to find people with specific accents that fit the visuals and skills, so that’s how dubbing could help.
