You are right but promotion actually do helped to at least make the words out that the drama has aired. Love Game in Eastern Fantasy is with heavy marketing and managed to be hit due to that extra efforts. Fox Spirit would flopped even more without the marketing. Moonlight Mystique is also with heavy marketing and benefit from it and the drama managed to get 30M/ep due to that.

Words have it that Tencent will go all out to promote POB. But LYN said that there are not going to be kissing scenes in the drama so I wonder whether fans going to be angry or not lol. I'm happy that SZE will managed to get proper marketing for her dramas. The scandal did put her career on hold so she deserved to be heavily promoted due to that.

There is a lot of Cdramas with heavy promotions. You can google it. This kind of promotions usually done for A-lists actors like him, I can name them but I dont want to be a competition because that is not my intention.

I just want to point out that despite he is an A-list actors, his dramas are usually with minimal or zero promotions unlike other actors who have less than hit dramas than him. Which is weird as he constantly produce hits even without marketing. I thought its gonna change with his reputation and track record but those remains the same last year for Burning Flames and Love of Nirvana and not to mention Twilight.

I meant as in marketing for dramas. Usually, some dramas will get huge marketing if streaming sites think they are going to be hits. They will spent a lot on marketing so that many people will watch the dramas. While for RJL dramas, its usually airdropped like Demon Hunter's Romance. Last year Love of Nirvana as well. Burning Flames and as well as Twilight.

If you noticed other dramas, they will release teaser, teaser, poster, teaser, poster before the release date. They also will buy a lot of Weibo Hot Search topic in order to promote the dramas.

Some shows usually started with web dramas. Only when they become popular that they are shown on TV. Like Under the Power, shown at internet/web first. Only when it blow up and popular, it is shown on TV repeatedly (with rerun) after that.

Its doing really great. It was #1 drama right now despite zero marketing. The viewership number tripled on the 2nd day and yesterday, it recorded 18% market share from all airing drama right now, hopefully, it will reach 20% today.

This is also the normal trend for RJL’s popular dramas. I always weep at the little marketing he usually gets but he ended up having 5 hit dramas so far despite of that. His dramas might not reach 10k heat index, but it usually become a hit due to good words of mouth. Just like how this drama is doing right now. One of the better Cdramas from last year. I cant believe how much I enjoy the story and the journey. Its simply marvelous. Compelling story with lots of characters growth. The drama changed lot of things from the donghua and makes it better especially how Wu Geng survived the purge of the immortals of his country. Also how him and A Gou actually the same person instead of a different person like in the donghua.

This drama is one of the better adaptation from big IP and the changes made elevated the story even more.

They are using deceptive story telling method. Just wait, you will be surprised with the plot twist. The signs are every where that this is all planned by the couple.
