This drama is so good, it should have been a standing ovation drama…till they messed up the showing times. like…
Did the change in schedule really impact so much how you see the drama? What's the difference if they had kept the more common showing schedule?

it was a fun watch but at the end of the day it was just lazy… im mad at how badly they tied everything up in…
Completely disagree, the end was what made it for me. And if they really make a second season it's all set up to explore those issues.

i promise you that is not at all important to the story. i think we as a society gotta stop asking these kinds…
What a boring and reductive way of reading any narrative/fiction. Thankfully more and more stories are challenging these old and tired stereotypes that refuse to die in our society.

You screwed up ep 3 if I Promised You The Moon...I thought you were a true genius until I saw ep 3.
Because it's so good we had the development in episode 3, not just the cliched romance people like you seems to expect from every danm narrative.

Exactly! The synopsis made it sound like it's a serious, melodramatic type of romance show but the trailer hints…
I was actually agreeing with you. There's no point in judging any story by a 34 seconds trailer...lol

It's from the Crash Landing on You and My love from another Star writer....so let's give the woman a little credit at least!! She knows what she's doing.

did you even watch it . There is no logic in your comment.
Now, in that you are definitely wrong. Midnight Chicken is without a doubt, 100% BL. That's just a fact. It was marketed as BL, with BL actors, it's called a BL by the people involved in the production, the director, the writer and it's watched and understood by the public as BL in their country of origin. So again, whatever you might or might not think about Moonlight Chicken and BL it doesn't change this fact.

After finishing, overall a pretty decent show, but suffers from the usual Thai tropes. My thoughts (note everything…
Just one correction, Wen did not quit his corporate job offscreen, he just declined the promotion that required him to go to another city.

Why?
Well, you want nicer but still find that women must dress a certain way and look a certain way or they aren't fit to star in a romcom? I mean why shouldn't she look older than the ML when she is 10 years older? Also must the female lead always dress and be "pretty" (I put commas because the actress is pretty in every sense). So it's at least very hard sexism at play here and you weren't very nice about it. Why be surprised when you get a similar answer?

Okay but the problem here is why did you watch a slice of life show wanting it to be a rom-com and then is shocked…
Yeah, I got that. And I think it's absolutely fine to enjoy or not any piece or media but I don't think it's a fair review of any show to demand it to be something it's not, can be quite misleading. In fact I think many people were expecting the same as yourself and that's one of the reasons they liked the story of Liming and Heart better than the leads. They follow a much more tradicional "love narrative" (but don't get me wrong I loved them too).

I'm curious as to what "real life issues" the series addresses. Could you fill me in please?
I'm curious that you don't see them...lol generational and family problems, financial issues, internalized homophobia, living with guilt, prejudice against disabled people, etc. Maybe you think they handled it poorly but it's pretty obvious it's there, in fact they are at the forefront of the narrative.

I wanted to like it. acting, great. direction, great. characters, great. but I am still disappointed. Because…
Okay but the problem here is why did you watch a slice of life show wanting it to be a rom-com and then is shocked when the narrative is about the daily life of the characters? lol I also have my own preferences but we can't ask a show for something it is not and then be disappointed that they did not deliver what they never promised to! Even from the trailer it was very clear the kind of show this was.

Well, of course you can watch whatever you want but this is definitely not the usual "romance rape trope" because…
What I meant is that this is not the usual romance trope of showing rape as a form of love or even the "they liked it after all" which is very common and normally happens between the protagonists that are endgame. So I think it's misleading to speak about it as if it was like that. Now, that doesn't mean people have to like it or even watch it but I do think that in a medium rife with portrayals of SA that are not considered as such it is refreshing that the show is not going for this route, it's emphasizing the need for consent and how people deal with the trauma. Will it be like that for the whole show? Who knows. Is it the best narrative ever written? No lol but still it's dealing with some interesting topics.
