Title Eight Hundred Spoiler
I saw a preview where after an accident, Chen Hui goes into some sort of paralysis.

Chen Hui is so shrewd and crafty, makes me wonder, could he actually be.... pretending??!?

It was just a comment, why the hate? Why call someone sasaeng if you don't know the meaning? Just as you are entitled…
Name-calling and expressing opinions are NOT the same.

I’d rather he has less screen time in a quality production than more time in a nonsensical production. The story…
An example was Wonderland of Love ❤️

And tbh I was wondering if that detail was neccassary. Can she have connection to the previous crime somehow or…
And quite some time spent on it too, in ep 5 and a previous one where she first met Ding Yue.

I know, I'm dreading what would happen in YOC if it really is as expected. And no, I'm not new to the genre, it's just not my preferred one. I am happy tho, that XK is exploring serious roles and different kind of scripts that allow him to exhibit more of his acting flair. He really has the ability to completely immerse himself in a role, you just see the character, not him when he's acting, making his character portrayals so impactful.

Yes, I get that and of course Xu Kai has done phenomenal work here, even those few minutes where he appears let you be captivated.
However, this isn't my usual genre, and frankly, I'm only watching it for Kai, so, hoping he's shown more in the drama.

Also, this is something that generally happens with him, he's used as bait to lure audiences in, and then his scenes are chopped off.

Was mostly referring to ep 5, he was hardly there.

Ep 5
I wonder what was behind Liu Na's expression after she shared the news of her illness with Chen Hong Bin & Ding Yue. Seemed to me like she was lying to them or scheming something.

So, here's another series where Xu Kai's popularity was used heavily to promote the show, but he's hardly been given any screen time in the actual drama.

Edit: Gosh! So much backlash for one comment! I just talked about it being a repetitive pattern on XK's shows.
And am I wrong in saying that majority of the promotional material of this show was all about XK? Yes, it's good acting by all actors and it's a team effort, but was the whole team equally shown in the promo clips and trailers?

The father is kinda irritating, he doesn’t care about boundaries or freedom, always insisting 🤧
It's 1997, that would be most Asian parents. Even the mum, interfering in their lives and going behind Chen Hui's back to ask Song Ge to leave him

Ep 4, last scene
Chen Hui had two pressing problems, two blackmailers, Lu Yuan and Huo Kai Ming. I'm assuming he thought of something clever then to make one chase the other so they deal with each other and are not his problem anymore!

It’s sad how far they had to go, risking everything, just to afford her treatment😢
That's the most tragic and heartbreaking part 😢

Both Hui and Songge are pretty naive to be involved in shady business. With mere agreement on rules and promises…
True, when he gave Lu Yuan money and drugs and asked him to leave the town, I was a hundred percent sure he's going to come back for more. Like that was such a naive and noob move to trust an addict who knows your deep dark secret that he wouldn't blackmail them.

And yes, he's fed up for sure, clear from his expressions, that he regrets having to deal with this part.

who is stronger? full-demon Wu Zhen or Mei Zhu Yu?
Demon MZY should be stronger. Even when his demon form was not awakened, he was way more powerful than all the other demons and Changxi bros. When that power within awakens, he would be much more powerful.

MZY and WZ should name thier kid Mei Mao (Mei is the dad's surname, mao means cat). Mei Mao would be the most powerful in their world.

Oooh now I want a sequel with this storyline 😆🤪

Maybe his agency picked these dramas for him, Moonlit Reunion and Yi Ou Chun to get benefits for another actor.…
Yes, that's what we get to know through the grapevine.

The emotional depth he brings to his characters elevates the entire narrative, turning fleeting scenes into unforgettable…
I was quite impressed by his acting in SOYP, especially the emotional ones, like when he gets married, when he returns from war hoping to reclaim her in exchange of war merits, when he asks the emperor to cherish her, and when he shares this with Qingliang (the maid). Just brilliantly done!

Weirdly, I really dislike when someone thinks they're praising XK by saying 'his acting has improved a lot' for every latest project, implying that it wasn't as good before the particular drama. A, this is not the praise they use for others, why downrate his work? B, they should just look at SOYP, his first big project, he nailed it right there and from then on, his acting has been flawless because he works so hard studying his roles and every aspect from their lives he has to act.

Honestly, the onnnnly place I thought XK's acting was not so good was in his movie with Zhao Lusi called Autumn Fairy Tale, but that was just the beginning, I think he took acting seriously only after that.

Well, I guess that much of a rant is enough for now😅

I don't quite agree though, that had one actor not backed out, XK would not have had the opportunity to be a star. I feel with his looks and charisma, if not this, he would definitely have had another opportunity instead. His rise to stardom was destined.

Xu Kai may have less screen time, but he delivered, like usual! He's got such a strong screen presence not many actors have.

Even if his role is significantly shorter in a drama, his part is always one of the most memorable long after. He undeniably carries the show.

And I know the fans are bothered by him having unfairly less time in MR, wait till Yi Ou Chun comes out, I'm positive XK's character Shen Run would get even less screen time, they just do that to him 🤦🏻🤷🏽‍♂️
