this is not a simple college drama that he can easily accept. after seeing so many period dramas i understand why they had to think through so much for marriages.. and she doesnt exactly present a best option given her family background - commoner , business family , and illegimate child. not exactly a match he can pick and can get approval of cabinet (remember he had to get approval of cabinet for marriage - and earlier he asked PM to veto marriage alliances from queen mother) - she doesnt exactly represent a good option and MOST IMPORTANTLY - she uses the word divorce in the 1st proposal meeting and not even indicate any romantic inclination - and we know he seems to have a crush /love on her since school and in those circumstances how would he want to go for marriage with her....and most importantly, marrying him is like throwing her into fire with queen mother plotting against him..may be he doesnt want to put her through all that...
he likes her... but so many reasons... and i still think he leaked the news to news channels finally after seeing how seriously she is pursuing him and to ensure marriage happens...and only a scandal can ensure marriage happens..... ((also to protect her , now that queen mother saw her in his room ...and only a marriage can probably protect her as someone said)
