In 2020, NRTA has said that production cannot sign actors without finalizing the script. He has APPARENTLY signed a preliminary contract (they sign the official contract before filming). This is more like a promise from XK side that he will do the drama given his condition. But since the production team seem to have broken the contract, he should be able to fight it with a strong team which unfortunately he doesn’t have

I guess is that since rumors of MR were circulating about releasing from May-August window, they probably didn’t want two XK dramas to air closely, so they probably taking their sweet time. I actually don’t know tho. But Chinese fans are expecting this around Sep-Oct, which is more realistic
The one for next year is in discussion and tbh I don’t have high hopes coz the Chinese censorship would not allow the novel to be done as a drama. It’s a HongKong mature themed book. As for the September this year rumor, it’s a costume suspense drama. Whether it’s dual ML or one single ML, there’s not much development on this debate. We will have to wait and see

About the Listening to the Wind Order drama, I made a post on XHS asking fans whether XK had actually signed the contract or not. People said that he should have signed an intention agreement as dramas usually sign the actual formal contract right before filming begins. That being said, since his team said that he has signed a contract, I didn’t get any answers as to whether he can not film the drama (since it MIGHT have been an intention agreement). Imo now that all of this have happened I hope he can leave his agency and even if the production team decides to film the script XK read, I don’t think it will be a harmonious environment as they can screw him anytime at this point.

This rumor first started at the end of March but was not popular. But it’s starting to make rounds again since the last few hours. Fans are obviously excited about this rumor coz this kinda sounds mature. But let’s hope they take things slow and not rush to decide on the next project

It was a XK fan, who is a book lover, promoted the book on xiaohongshu with XK’s blonde Hong Kong look as clickbait (in a positive way) to gain attention to the post as she thought XK was suitable for the novel character . the novel is based in HongKong, despite the script will probably be in Guangzhou. The production team probably saw the unintended fan post, and the positive reactions under it by Non-fans and reached out to XK team. XK team is currently in “deep contact”. We just have to wait and see what happens.

DYD is a great veteran who was in the knockout and always on the move. His scripts are usually good and serious, I think we can be assured that the script should be challenging. Hence I’m so looking forward to this coz this looks like a huge leap in XK’s career
1) the novel is very very beautifully written according to Chinese fans, so with a good director- this would be great
2) people love that this is Cantonese based
3) Some say this is to divert attention from the current issue.
