My review probably would've been longer had I've been healthier and I would've really stuck it too VFL's character, but to tell you the truth, she was just acting on the script that she was given so all the fault goes on the script writers and the director. Female centric novel or not you can't take away from a man's job or who he is as a person, his character just to make someone else seem better. And they didn't make her seem better. They actually made her seem worse. It is absolutely unbelievable for someone to go from basically handing out medicine one day and fighting on a battlefield the next. It is sloppy, unrealistic writing, and as someone who is a writer and novelist and editor of screenplays, I know when fiction becomes bullshit. You have to have people that believe in the character really want the character to succeed not because a friend runs to the court and says oh so and so was able to kill a general with three strikes and every single time she corrects everybody by saying oh well with two strikes that is arrogance talking. Be humble and say yes three strikes. She has no military training can't read can't write. Can't do anything does not face any consequences for her insubordination on the battlefield. It was her absentmindedness that killed her friend or got him killed rather and hopefully not permanently harmed ML's, right hand man. And still she gets away with literally murder. She killed two generals. She was in three battles total and all of a sudden she's the heroin of the country. He was only allowed to show his fighting pros and the powerful first arc when he was always injured and near death protecting her ass. Did he need to marry her as her something or other husband to save her parents house for her? Absolutely not. But he did it to repay her for helping him. She was the one who praised the Marquis when she thought he was dead to him and how she admired him, but as soon as she found out that the man she married, was that same man she slapped him, pushed him away and walked off angry. Like bitch where is your admiration now? You don't get to feel angry. He's literally holding the country on his shoulders, including your ass. People were all upset that he kept his secret from her and lied to her he had no other choice. If you look at the big picture and not just poor little FCY you will understand that he absolutely had no choice and still they found her anyway. It's just dumbfounding how much of an idiot for street smarts sure everything else her brain is just hay and air. She only think starts to really truly understand stuff once we get into the third arc. Meanwhile, the actual hero is relegated to know more than her sidekick or poodle, which is disgusting. Grrr

Let the man pee in peace! When he first went to Changsha, he had a security guard and a half but when he left he had a whole slew of them plus airport staff so I hope wherever he travels next his company I don't know who he's under. I checked them out, but it's a mandarin name that I can't pronounce hires them burly bodyguards that can push these idiots out of the way. As soon as he started playing this role. I'm like "he absolutely is nailing". It gave me shivers because I've seen him in other roles but this one this was THE role.
