I'm devastated cause so many scenes that were essential to explain the bond between haixia and hailou is gone…
I'm devastated too π And I couldn't agree more with you! It especially sucks that they cut the reunion hug! I mean, WTF π And of course those other scenes you mentioned...it almost feels like the Chinese government has gotten stricter...or maybe they were extra strict with this show, because of the very famous actors and IP. But either way, it really sucks...
That's what I was thinking! They're cutting scenes left and right, like a censored adaptation, lol. Like what they did with Justice in the Dark, and I'm sure others.
It's so frustrating π They've cut so many scenes with the brothers π Stupid censorship. They were supposed…
ππ This show and the Thai bromance Wu (well, it's bROMANCE, not really the brotherly type like in this show, haha) have been the two dramas that have gotten me out of my drama drought. But knowing that they cut out scenes like these, for no reason, makes me a little less excited to watch future episodes π Of course I will though, because I'm still enjoying the show. But yeah...
Reason for 45 mins long episode to cut short into 35 min duration now:-https://x.com/xingyuxixi/status/2066168144104968386?s=20https://x.com/feifeiyunxixi/status/2066403529896653284?s=20
Yeah, I saw these scenes π There are plenty more too...but WHY did they have to cut the reunion hug?? Out of all the scenes to cut...π‘
Why r they deleting so many scenes ?? These episodes are barely 40 mins now ( I need more of em together lol )
It's so frustrating π They've cut so many scenes with the brothers π Stupid censorship. They were supposed to hug in their reunion, but apparently the Chinese government thinks two men who are like brothers hugging is too gay π€¦πΌββοΈπ I swear, I've watched other recent Cdramas where men who are friends have hugged and no censorship there, but they seem to be extra stickler with this drama, for stupid reasons.
Someone fry me they just want to keep us on edge...the end of eps 14 just AHHThis is really so bingeable...I can'tJust…
Yes, they sure do ππ And don't worry, it looks like they reunite in Episode 15 and things will be normal for a little while at least...but I doubt it will last long π
Yeah, I'm preparing myself for a sad ending...but who knows π€·πΌββοΈ
Well, I just looked up the drama name on TikTok, and easily found some of them π€·πΌββοΈ Now mind you, it's always possible that some of the scenes will still be shown, since the show isn't completed yet, but I'm just assuming that most of them won't π
Ugh, I'm frustrated: after going on social media and seeing all the scenes they cut in the show because of censorship ππ‘ Perfectly fine scenes! Geesh, it's like showing affection with someone who's like your brother is bad and means it's gay, according to the Chinese government π€¦πΌββοΈ Of course they're probably stricter with a show like this, because it's part of a huge IP and there are big name actors in it. But still π‘@#!
Does anyone know if it's going to be a happy ending is there like any official news or something.
I don't think we know for sure. Just judging by the story and the tone of the show so far (and the lyrics for the OSTs π), I'm preparing myself for a sad or bittersweet ending at best. But who knows π€·πΌββοΈ
Yeah, that's another reason probably. And yeah girl are fine but two men hugging π΅Actually, I've watched a few Cdramas that came out in the last year or so that have shown two men hugging and all of these shows had bromance; The First Shot, The Guardians, Whispers of Fate, The Company, Bright Time...but it probably depends on the context too and the characters π€·πΌββοΈ This drama has quite a few high profile actors and a lot of buzz about bromance around it, so maybe they're more strict with dramas like this one, who really knows π€·πΌββοΈ
BL is still not allowed to air in Mainland China. Companies outside of China sponser the BLs being made with Chinese actors. And the dramas are streamed on international platforms, not on anything people can watch in China. I'm sure plenty of people use VPNs though to bypass that π€·πΌββοΈ
There are a lot of good things about this show. The acting, direction, production, plot are all competent and…
I can see where you're coming from, and that's my one critique about the show; the characters - especially the side characters, aren't fleshed out as much as I'd like. I think the main reason is that they only had 9 episodes to tell the story. It should've been 16 IMO π
And yeah, episode 5, I was like, "shouldn't Niran be more concerned for his sister?"
That being said, I still really like all of the side characters, even if we don't get to know them as much as we'd like. I'm super invested in the story and Pete and Niran's bond is π€πΌ Still my favorite watch of this year so far π
Yeah, no doubt in my mind now that he'll be back. And there are quite a few scenes in the trailers and end credits where Haixia is in a wheelchair alive, Hailou AND Haiqi are with him, Haiqi never saw him in the wheelchair up to this point so π€·πΌββοΈ
Yeah, and you're probably right with that. And they probably got extra paranoid with censorship because of that ππ
But people will ship almost anything regardless, so it's not like they can stop that anyway π€·πΌββοΈ
Yeah, I'll just continue to watch the show as is and cope with BTS footage ππ€¦πΌββοΈ
