No, Sensei

But this creates a conundrum, how do I know who is the Sensei of a specific topic? Even in the abstract sciences - that prides itself to be factually based - there are still debates. How do we know who among the many Senseis is the highest Sensei? You disregard the life of an animal as a lower form of living. But how are you so sure that the life of an animal is not the appropriate way of living? Darwin's dogma of Survival of The Fittest is a simple, yet a very effective mechanism to determine what is right from wrong. It is right when your species manages to survive and it is wrong when your species reaches extinction. Why do we try to attain a form of life that is unattainable, when we can live like animals and let the law of nature rule over us.

But if Sensei is a misnomer and everyone is a Sensei in effect, you are proposing a world with no hierarchy. How can we live in a world where there is no dominant force spewing to us what is common wisdom. Do you really believe in a self-regulating world?

Okay, fair enough. This show is weirdly paced, which has caused many fans and critics to get the worst out of each other. For now, I think that it is best to aim your criticism to the "crazy" fans. I will report to you later whether the show actually redeemed itself or not haha. It looks it is attempting to try redeeming itself.

Is it possible to acquire wisdom without a Sensei? And if so, how can I stay free from any biases whilst looking up my own sources? I started to find refuge in the supernatural and spiritual things, but then I learnt to trust facts. You made me realize that the concept of facts is fictional, because it is a construct made up with our biases. But now I am lost. Is it possible to live an honourable life without seeking wisdom?

Perhaps you should become my Sensei instead of "My Two Cents". As my master you are more generous, as you give me 50 cents instead of a meager 2 cents.

I am a mortal being that feels neglected by anything spiritual, thus I only believe in facts. You have opened my eyes that my view is impacted by my own biases influenced by propaganda, fake news, Western monoculture, technology and a magic flute of power. Thanks for your opinion. The racism issue is still not solved. The whole "do not touch my boyfriend" is actually getting addressed in the show. We see glimpses where now the outsiders (especially the ML's girlfriend and her colleagues) tell both the ML and FL that their relationship is not normal. If you watched more episodes (especially episode 6), you will learn that they are slowly de-glamorizing the whole sexual harassment/stealing the boyfriend stuff. Perhaps you were also too early to have your verdict ready. Although I do not really think they will address the dreads-guys, there is a chance they also will - just as they did with the emotional cheating. In fact, by the looks of the show is heading, I would not be surprised that the ML and FL do not end up together at the end. It seems that the ML and FL are more supporting each other to overcome their sad past. The fans of this show are awful, but the drama is slowly building to something more.

Exaggeration is also an art. If 5% is equivalent to 20%, then most TVN-dramas are massive successes (there are plenty of cable dramas reaching those numbers nowadays). It is more equivalent to 10% (factor 2, not 4), but even then I wonder whether that relationship still holds. There is no denying that both TVN, JTBC and even TV Chosun have a much wider reach than ten years ago. In the past, 5-6% was extraordinary. Nowadays 10%+ has become quite common. I really do not think the difference between cable and public channels are still that large. I even would say that factor is now only 1.5 times instead of 2 times.

It is not really a drama that you want to watch at 9pm on a Saturday or Sunday. It requires too much focus for such an early time slot. If it would be at 11pm for example, I could watch in my bed in all quietness before sleeping.

Totally agree, but IU is not an actress by training. For someone that started out as a singer, she does have potential though. But her slur makes it obvious that she is not amongst the top yet. There is a reason why people such as Shin Hye Sun or Jo Jung Suk are so nice to listen to, because they have very good control over tone and do not slur.

I am more fan of IU singing voice than her talking voice. IU slurs pretty bad when talking. She needs to improve that part and she will become a top actress. Heck, she is now already nominated for a lot of acting awards, but improve that part and she will take them home as well.
