yes as far as I remember those kissing scenes were suppose to be like that. In 2nd part why the romance is good is hat they both admit the love while in drama they know they love each other but due to conflicts never really admit it especially the fl lead. Its been more then a month now so I don't really remember all the details....By the long haired girl, do you mean "Eun Byul" It was pointed out even from the first season that she was mentally disturbed and had multiple personality disorder. Even tho I hated her from the core of my heart, she went to detention for her mistakes, at end she tried her best to protect her mother but when she realized that her mother will keep being the monster she is, she helped everyone else and gave statement against the person she would do anything to protect. She had a brilliant voice, if she wanted she could go abroad easily and start a new life, but instead she became a music teacher at a chruch / orphanage(don't clearly remember). Looking back to her life she was a pathetic and poor soul to begin with. For me she had done enough to redeem herself, ofcourse some other including you might not feel like it but we cant force our opinion on other, can we?

Totally agreed with your statement, "Trauma is in no way a justification to doing bad things to others". Thats exactly why if you go back to first season comment section you won't be seeing anyone saying the kids are good or anyone justifying their action despite knowing that they had bad parents.

First of all, by bad parenting I didn't mean the abuse part, I meant the part where the parents or anyone around you doesn't even teach you what is wrong and right. Im sorry for your past and also happy that you turned out so well and I in no way was justifying their action with my statement. Ofcourse what they did was wrong. Also wanted to point out not all humans are safe. Every human tackles a matter differently. Im proud that you were strong enough to get over it but some people don't. For some people the effect of it remains with them for life. Thats how different we humans are despite having the same body composition.

Ah at first I thought maybe this wasn't to your taste, but after reading this, I'd say you didn't really understand a single character in the drama.
The male lead is suppose to be a noble character who has sacrificed his own childhood to protect his country and has vowed to protect it till his last breath without marrying. He isn't just someone who once in love can take the women and run away. He has thousand of soldiers under his care and probably millions of people living in his part of country. If he tries to do anything he isn't suppose to do, those people will have to suffer because of him. Imagine having such a big responsibility on your shoulders. And its not like he can just give away this responsibility, as the royal family will not let him get away no matter wherever he is, not to mention all the peace truces done by him will become void.
I haven't even mentioned the point that the female lead was engaged from start to end(except in the middle few episode). What did you want the male lead to do, Have romance with someone else's bothered? Thats why this is called a sad love story. because both can't be with each other despite loving each other.
You mentioned that you didn't feel any chemistry between two. This is the point I'll have to highly disagree with. But ofcourse you are entitled to your opinion.
2nd male lead was basically cheating. If male lead started using underhand methods like his what would be the difference between protagonist and antagonist?

It's up to you. Even if you don't watch "One and Only" you will still pretty much get everything in this drama. But I'd strongly suggest you to watch "One and Only", that drama is a 9/10 from me on its own. Also watching that before this one will surely make you admire this one more.
