I'd say SDS is supposed to go but SDM still thinking SDS is the real one and maybe write letters to each other (with HJP help? I mean, Cyrano is like this). The drama became so confusing in the end. They def changed the last 2 episodes so it's not that crazy to think they changed the endgame. We don't know for sure but neither SDS fans know it. Only God & the people involved know. I think that's something fishy with the ending and I will always think so
Yeah should've ended with HJP burning those letters or smashing the plant.
That's one satisfying ending. Having him cling and beg to DS and being told "keep your emotions aside" by the most emotional person we've seen was a lil bit too much for me.

What a wasted opportunity to talk about this kind of disorder. I said it before, but the psychological side of the first part of the drama is one of the reasons my expectations were so high. You can't talk about deep things and then make a toxic relationship go as "true love". Like, miss me with that. You want to talk about millenials, gen z issues? Give us a resolution, give us a way how you can overcome this. All the other DS from this world won't find a DM by luck so they are supposed to be trapped in their insecurities? They are not geniuses and this drama gave them so much false hope, hope that someone other than you is needed to overcome this issues.

She was showing us DS liking his job and the self-driving car just before taking all away and having again DM as his dream. Like wt*?)
What I expected from the writer, given the psychological tone/theme, is DS finally letting go of DM, finding his own worth and enjoying/appreciating what he already has: his family, friends, while working towards his goals. Realizing he didn't really liked DM and finding a relationship where he didn't have to sacrifice his core values to fit with the other person. Him being nerdy and finding a nerdy girl who loves him by who he is.
I expected DM to understand that life comes with regrets too, no choice is the perfect choice and sometimes we will have regrets regarding of the choice we make. If you go the left path, you miss the path on the right. Life is both. I wanted her to regret one of her choices and to do business for the right reasons.
HJP is one of the characters that we've seen some growth. And him opening up to people indicates he will be alright even if he doesn't have DM. (I mean, he's successful, handsome and now emotionally available, girls will line up).

Yep, a good list of DM's contradictions. The girl is unpredictable. It would have been such a beautiful story to have her take again her father's food-delivery business and do her own Uber Eats. I mean, it's fantasy and it's 2017. She could easily be one of the first people to do it and succeed in doing it.
What I wanted from the last episode to see finally what DM thinks and feels. I could have forgiven lot of her contradictions (we all have our own) but I can never forgive the writer for not giving us this. DM was like a black box. Ain't sure she really loves DS as she said before she likes the DS from the past and she also said she likes DS "just because" and "your big hands". I don't see love here. Why did she get married to him? Money? Success? Because love isn't.

Yes, my exact thoughts lately. Maybe because is a "winning" thing in the drama, we wanted him to win. But if we go all real life, he deserves a much better woman. She might be pretty but too shallow and she's all for outer beauty. I'd totally not recommend a girl like that if you're a man like HJP. For DS yes, they're on a similar level. I mean, DS/DM deserve each other.

I liked your review and, as a good stories fan, I still can't like Startup. Yeah, the writer wanted the insecure guy to get the girl but she made their relationship look so toxic I can't root for them. We know in real life people like DS get people like DM, but what's the point in writing fiction (a Disney drama) and have an ending that doesn't look Disney like? I mean, Anna literally ends up with Hans (their Frozen analogy not mine). If this was a drama based in real life, I could buy it.
What happens if people like DS gets an opportunity to love and grow? Nothing according to this drama, nothing happens. They cling onto that and never grow.
