It's more like this person, who knew nothing about medicine but was skilled in martial arts, became a miraculous doctor by studying every bit of available medical knowledge to ease his own pain from poison or cure himself. So, in order to continue studying and sustain himself, he started treating people in need and receiving compensation for his services. However, besides that, the only thing he did until his death was cleaning up the messes that occurred because of him, even though there were a few better ways for him to achieve his goals. The truth is, he never fully recovered from the trauma he experienced ten years ago. He simply wanted to make things right and die with a clear conscience.

And let me tell you, this main character is one of the most pathetic and pitiful individuals I've ever come across in stories, dramas, or any other form of entertainment. He's a genius that you only find once in a million, and he manages to reach the top only to be betrayed and left barely alive. What's even more miserable is that all he can think about is finding his brother's corpse, the very person who orchestrated his betrayal and killed his master. One of his closest friend ends up lusting after his woman and the other guy poisons him all because of some crazy woman. And to top it all off, the woman he's loved for ages couldn't even recognize him. The person who wrote this must have some strange fetish for seeing someone suffer so much.

People are really angry about this because compared to the manhua and anime, the characters here act way too silly. This happened because BTTH is so popular and there are people who absolutely fall in love with either the novel, manhua, or anime. So once you love one of these, you have a certain specific character in your mind and this is how he or she should be. So when this drama failed to meet people's expectations, it's normal for them to get mad and trash it. To be honest, the characters in this drama look like clowns compared to the characters in other forms, and the action is so bad compared to others. So this is an adaptation, not something new, and people have expectations... that's the case.

It's great to see that Ning and the rest of the gang embrace LTG as a cheeky brat and are willing to guide him. On the other hand, our little princess is brilliant. Li Tong Guang is seriously giving off major red flags. I totally agree with Ning's worries about him. It's not just a matter of trust or jealousy as she thinks. I believe he has the potential to become the ultimate villain. It seems like Ru Yi can sense it too, but she shrugs it off because of the sentimental attachment or faith she has about her disciple.
If you haven't started yet, I'd suggest waiting until season 3 because a lot of things are happening here, but it's not the main story and the screen time for the main character is not better than the guest star's screen time.
And if you're sensitive to certain things (you know what I mean), please be warned that the first three episodes can be quite disturbing and inhumane.
As for season 2, to be honest, I don't have any opinions to give because the whole thing felt like a bridge for connect to season 3 and introduce a bunch of new characters. So, it didn't turn out as thrilling as I had anticipated
