I think you are pessimistic about Xu Kai's screentime. For me, the character arc and how he acts matters most. If you read his interview and how often he talked about Chen Hui, you can sense the importance of this role to Xu Kai. The story was set in a small town, centers the father-son conflict, the thin line between good and evil. And we know that Chen Hui originally has a normal, happy life and family. He was the one who goes astray. Thus I am convinced that he would have adequate and reasonable screentime. Moreover, this drama belongs to Tencent X Theater label which focus on high quality storytelling, compact package and high pace. I don't think they would spent unnecessary time to push other actors (who? just look at the cast - beside Xu Kai and Andy Deng, most of cast are senior)
