First 5 episodes later and I’m already in love with this show. Looking forward to the ride. 😁

I thought the ratings or comments could have been exaggerated, but NO! This movie is perfect. I cried and laughed. Such a meaningful story without any of the casts trying too hard. It flowed naturally, like you are watching real people's lives.

Zhu Yi Long definitely deserved his best actor award for this role.

Kudos to the cast and crew. 10/10 from me (a rare rating from me) ☺️😊.

In the ending scene of that ep, Nie Zhe told QIngyan the truth in front of Su Rush. Also, to be fair ML also wanted…
Yes, but all this could have been done after hurting him. Instead of standing there like wood and asking him to step down. All along, his plan was never to ask him nicely to step down, it was to kill him. Which is why in an earlier episode he told one of his followers he will slaughter his way straight the temple instead of invading covertly.

Exactly it was just bad writing. They had to find the underground palace but why dumb down the leads and make…
Exactly! The writer wants us to cut off our brain cells and go with him on this illogical ride. 🤦‍♀️

Aggghhhh! C-dramas and their lack of logic. How can someone who has been planning to kill his mortal enemy, finally get hold of him and spent the whole time just talking nonsense. And then suddenly taking down the sword over news about his mum (whom he already knows is evil. I mean she abandoned him as a baby after letting his tendons be cut). Makes no sense other than the drama wants to create a silly excuse to keep the villain alive

Geeezzzz! c-dramas need to do better with all these idol dramas. 🙄 🙄 🙄

Finally got to finish this as well. I was watching multi-C-dramas at once and then got super busy with life and I am just completing each one now.

Even with all the flaws this drama had, it was such an interesting story and a pleasant watch for me.

Unlike when I suddenly get busy and unable to keep watching an airing drama, I often won't return to it. This one was very different. This shows how interesting it is.

I will miss it how entertaining it was. 😭

He was silently rebuking him form usurping Guo Rong's throne. The three of them were good friends. While he understood…
Yep! A message of peaceful reunification and how it is better to be whole. Even I who is not Chinese felt that message. The message was definitely well sent 🤣

Guess script writers decided a much palatable story for the drama. Sending a message of trust and strong friendship between Kuangyin and Hongchu.

WOW! This show was worth all the time I spent on it. Took a while, but finally got to finish it. I laughed, cried and felt deeply moved by the story. Truly admired: Zhu Ya Wen, Bai Yu, Zhou Yu Tong, and all the other younger and older cast delivery of their roles.

The drama also reminded me of the C-drama era of long episodes. I know this is only 48, but still longer than the usual 38 episodes and smaller that has been the standard for a while.

I was just about to say didn't Guo Rong pass the throne to him when he handed him the yellow banner. Even his wife knew, because he was telling her before he died "who will she and their son rely on". The wife then forged an edict to say the throne was passed to her son. Even the ministers knew it was forged from their facial expressions. They knew something was wrong with the edict. As they know that Guo Rong knows, that the throne in chaotic times have never been passed to a child.
But, I am glad they could resolve the misunderstanding.

Loved this drama. But, it seems to have no real purpose other than make viewers feel emotional. I The drama purposely throws in scenarios that will tug at emotions for the heck of it or even show people working extra hard or overcoming. Don’t get me wrong, there’s nothing wrong with passing the message, it’s just done in an unnatural well. You could tell that’s what they are aiming at.

Also, I thought the development would go from 80s to present day. But, we don’t see it actually. I feel I watched a drama with no real aim. This is the producers issue and not the cast.

Not a bad drama overall though.
