Have you watched Ten miles of peach blossoms? It has strong FL, passionate, devoted ML, the teamwork/friendship is there, not as prominent as TSL though. There is an evil character in love with ML, but her presence is not that strong for her to be considered second FL imo.

If you like the acting of CXX, his previous shows such as Goodbye my princess and Fall in love also have strong FLs, he's quite possessive in GMP too, but he is not a typical hero in GMP.

The story of Minglan is another great costume show. Strong, smart FL, quite possessive ML. There is a love triangle but the guy is not evil and he moves on later.

I also enjoy New life begins (2022), strong FL, kind and smart ML, the friendship, teamwork in that show is fantastic, even stronger than TSL. Cannot remember any significant love triangles or evil second leads.

It's really hard to find another show in the xianxia genre that can match/exceed the TSL at the moment. If you specify a bit more, which genres and aspects (eg, healthy relationship, strong characters) in a show that you would enjoy, then it will be easier to give you some recommendations :D

Rewatched the last episode last night and realized the real reason that the ending bugged me. When would the twin come back? 1 year, 100 years or 10,000 years? If it is 10,000 years, then YQ will really need tons of (not just a bunch of) jianmu fruits.

2. Unpopular opinion: I don't like any of them at this point. But if I really have to rank them, then Wudai would be better than the rest. He is frank and straightforward. Dinyung is a mama's boy. Chaofeng is a pathological liar. If I have to take into consideration their upbringing, I can comprehend Chaofeng's actions but I cannot empathize with him, simply because one should not use their circumstances as excuses for their immoral acts.
In terms of looks, they are all charming in their own way :D

MYQ should really write a children book about their love and what YQ and all the shards have done for YT. It will become a fairy tale better than any Disney stories we have ever read <3

I was also deeply moved by this scene and his acting in general. There is no doubt that he is (one of) the most talented actors under 30 that I've had the chance to watch. General audience complain about everything, first his deep voice and then other stuffs like the final crying scene. I hope he gets more love than hate, and will be offered high-quality scripts, participate in feature films and work with internationally renowned directors/cast. At that level, being beautiful when crying would be the least concern :D

Totally agree too. LLD pulled off her role well. We indeed see different levels in her crying and they suits the circumstances well. With Man Man, her dad, her sister whom she has spent 18 years with, we can see that she cried her heart out at the deaths of the two and when the truth about her dad’s love for her revealed. With YQ, at first it was sorrow and regret like you mentioned. But in the last scene, she was trying hard to cheer him up as he was crying like a baby already. She needed to comfort him, to give him hope so that he can move on. Till the last moment, she still did her best to support her man. I cannot imagine a more appropriate way to perform these scenes. I love our leads so much for choosing to convey these scenes that way.

Wow you really have the eyes for details. I am totally with you. I love the nuances they delivered in those scene- a transformational deviation from the common tropes in this genre. They were indeed a badass couple when they left Heaven in Ep30. The way YQ called out her name was so affirmative yet sweet at the same time. Somehow it even sounds sweeter than ‘I love you’. They really did justice in that (and many other scenes).

I have not watched the whole clip, but my guess is the same. Ppl dont change a lot in a short period unless they go through some major life events.

Aww I kept nodding at every details you mentioned. I noticed them and felt the same. So much regret and sadness in the first scene as their love just bloomed and had to stop it already. I also love that they did not overact in these scenes, yet their acting and those little details deliver such impactful performance.
