It's there's one thing I just hate about the 5th story, it's the screentime taken over by the villain from the Yang family. I would not complain if the ep 36 was all just fluff for all the couples and Li fam.
Things i like about the last episodes of PM: - when Fan-er returned, it was Kangning who recognize him instantly, then Qiongnu. When he approached Le Shan, we already know who he is, but it was still fun the way he participated as a fake love rival to Yang Xian. I shed tears when he presented himself to the Li family. His absence from the story was worth it. - the bonus arc of Qiong Nu was not an out of the blue plot twist. They have laid grounds for her destined man since the first eps. I knew right from the start that Qiong Nu was not a simple maiden in the Li family. a) because of the actress choice, b) because they have placed subtle hints about the missing son and casual mentions of her, kangning and Fan's closeness when they were kids. He was unknown, but he's established right from the start. It was really just surprising that he was still alive. And they really went creative mode (almost ridiculous) with how he survived/thrived in a noble clan. And why he was not able to come back. hahaha. Talk about amnesia + child assassination + child substitution (whoever thought of combining these really worked hard just to make it work) lol - 3 years it took for Yang Xian to comeback, he was out in the seas trading. If this is not enough repentance for his jerkiness in the earlier parts of the show, I don't know what it. He basically suffered the misfortune Chai An almost took when he was broken hearted from Kangning. Which makes 5th sister's story a great final one as they topped everything. The youngest having the most epic one, involving imperial conspiracy, years of separation and tied up with an epic reunion.
So that sequence in ep 1 about how Mu Qingge got destroyed was totally untrue? because they have a different scene for the same event later on as we are shown SYS's memories of what really happened in the past.
When Leshan was outlining the qualities of her husband😂😂😂I was laughing in the sidelines.. Damn you are…
she's right about it all though, he's smart, funny, rich and respectable (being an royal relative lol). and her mom's right, he only cherish her. but there's a lot of trouble yet ahead before getting there lol.
not yet gonna start anytime soon... but I just love how he was re-introduced to the story, as her unintentional…
i had to check ep 25 if it was really mentioned the 3 years. lol. we dunno if they gonna use that as a plot device between the 5th couple later. but i saw trailer for ep 27. it seems a bride snatch. Le Shan will be betrothed to another guy. for some reason, Yang Xian will steal her and that's how they got married. there was no subtitle. i'm excited for the next ep!

its a common trope in cdramas, not love at first sight. meet-cutes disguised as misunderstandings or complicated encounters. But the logic is the same, once he gets curious about the girl, he'll start falling. If he smiles to himself because of her, he's done for.

not really. but with the whole plot's perspective, he gets to marry her only because they are destined for each other. it may have started as a foolish revenge game, he didn't like her. he didn't even see her when he went to the Li's and almost got kangning to marry him as his concubine. the moment he got played by Le Shan, that's when their love lines intertwined. He was determined to get a Li daughter as his concubine, and that girl is Le Shan ((he just didn't know it yet). Kangning only stepped in to save LS because he was a jerk. Then he got punished by the emperor so he was out of sight for a while. Then he shows up now as Le Shan's literal knight on a horse, I think, the moment he saw her, he liked her. But he only saw her first time on ep 25. For the 5th sister's story, it will be a "he chasing her" plot, mixed with enemies-to-lovers, contract servant-master, debt repayment, those sort of tropes.

idk yet about the forced marriage, but as of ep 25, they have this agreement where he saves her sister then she will be his maid for 3 years. this is their meet-cute in romcom terms...
Why must they always distance the selves for the “good” or “safety” like that is getting super annoying…
if it was Chai An, he would be instead like "you need to marry me to be safe," or "i can't entrust you to any other guy", "I'm the one who's best for you" lol he really said those already before
Wait, I just realized that 5th hubby is that detestable man that was trying to force 3rd to be his concubine.…
1 - it was actually schemed by the bad friend of Fan and Chai during 3rd sister's story, 5th hubby/Yan xiang actually got the portrait of 1st sister from the temple when the Madam Li was praying, c/o of the bad guy friend who just wanted revenge against the Li's for embarassing them before. 2 - he's not yet married, but he is being pressured by his father. so as a stupid plan, he thought he'll get a concubine before getting a wife as a form of rebellion. He doesn't care which girl. 3 - it was actually the 5th sister who slighted him at the bridge. He went to the Li household demanding as a payment, the girl who embarrassed him at the bridge to make his concubine. Kangning stepped out to save their youngest sister. they were afraid of him because he is an imperial relative. 4 - will be revealed in the upcoming episodes.
