are you racist or something? Aren't there Asians in American and European tv shows?
so what? it happens all the time in American tv shows, where an Asian actor is butchering the language because they were only hired for looks. There should be more European actors in Asian dramas! And this one is well acted.

Are the actors speaking Taiwanese or Chinese?
it's mandarin but with taiwanese pronunciation which is different than standard mainland.

I think its only me who skipped and fast forwarded while watching this~
I agree with you guys, but what do you think about male leads? As much as I like these two actors, and I think they are the reason this drama is so popular, I feel like in this drama they acted rather poorly, and unconvincingly, I guess the script is at fault but I didn't like their performance either seriously, like I said it started out nicely and then it was only worse xD

Me tooo ^^ This started out well but turned into a nightmare, it was so boring I had to fast forward at least 50%. It's a typical drama about nothing, I have no idea why it has such a high score xD

It was a great drama seriously :) I get the feeling that China and Taiwan are not very good at making dramas because they are all so fake, especially the acting however this drama is different. It's a realistic drama about normal people and their normal lives which are not boring at all. And I really loved Ma Lu and Shangguan Yan <3

I just started watching the drama and I can already tell that movies are waaaay better. It's a pity they couldn't…
I'm from Europe. I am learning Chinese and I can understand a lot and communicate but I cannot watch dramas without subtitles yet.

I am seriously suprised that these movies have such terrible reviews. In China it was a blockbuster even though the reviews where not so good. Most critics though appreciated the artistic style of the movie but their main problem was that it was in their opinion shallow nad showing a materialistic world with materialistic and empty values. I so totally disagree with them, I don't see shallowness anywhere in this movie. Just because there are some rich characters it doesn't mean that the movie is shallow, especially that it presents that most people are ruled by money and that is the sad truth which if you deny it you are just lying to yourself. However the main characters are not like that, they are ambitious and good people which you already know since you've seen the drama. That is basically why most critics say the movie was bad.

The best movie is Tiny Times 2, I get the feeling that they cut out a lot of plots and thus the movie is much more coherent and understandable plus it is really beautiful. First movie is a bit difficult to follow but still very good and third movie I have to admit is quite complicated, I wonder how the forth movie is going to turn out although I'm a bit less interested in the movies now that Rhydian Vaughan is not playing Gong Min anymore.
As for the drama I just finished 9th episode, the subs are quite good, are you really the one who is translating it? I cannot wait for the 10th episode :D
The problem with the drama in my opinion is that it lacks budget and has a lot of bad actors like Gong Min, Gu Yuan, Nan Xiang, Xi Cheng, if you see a movie you will know what I mean, you will fall in love with actors playing those characters :) Also I think the dialogues and narrative part in the drama is not well written either, and you will also know what I mean after watching the movies. Also the soundtracks from the movies are freaking aaamazing <3 Although I also love the opening song from the drama.

In the drama however those parts are not as good, not as realistic and at times a bit fake. I also prefer the cast much better, because I think they are better actors than those in the drama, with few expections like Gu Li or Lin Xiao, in the drama those actresses are good as well but I cannot stand the actress who plays Nan Xiang, she is so fake.
Before I watched movies I didn't know anything about Tiny Times and I could still catch on to the events in the movies. I did watch those movies for 2 or 3 times to understand it better, it's true that it is not that easy but still I wouldn't say it's that difficult to follow.

Well, I've seen all three movies and I really liked them. I recommend them a lot to you especially Tiny Times 2, it's a masterpiece in my opinion.
It's true that because the movies have to be more condensed because of the limited time they have, the whole plot is a bit complicated and it takes a lot of focus to get every small detail.
Nonetheless I think the story in the movies makes much more sense than in the drama. The movies had quite high budget which is visible right away and it's a huge plus, all of the movies are made in a very artistic way which makes the movies more beautiful.
The dialogues are well written and so is the narrative part.

I just started watching the drama and I can already tell that movies are waaaay better. It's a pity they couldn't make a drama like the movie. Even though drama is not the best I will keep on watching it because I'm curious about the story and I'm not very good at chinese yet to be able to read the books.

This drama sucks, seriously. From the very beginning it was slightly boring and it only got more boring and ridiculous as the show progressed, still I hoped for a decent ending and I was cheering for this unexpected (at the beginning)romance but unfortunately the ending sucks even more than the whole drama, it's unreasonable, and the last 3 episode are so extremely ridiculous that I felt sorry for this show. If it ended well for sure my score for this drama would be 6 or maybe even 6,5 but in this case I must say that it was a complete waste of my time and my final score is 4,5/10. I personally don't recommend this drama.
