Dew has this indescribable vibe which is so.. soothing? i dont even knowim obsessed with the way he talks and…
I feel like Dew is actually going to be the opposite of soothing in this series. Just a gut feeling.

Such an intriguing first episode, and the MUSIC was amazing. So moody and atmospheric.

I am really looking forward to more of this series.

Ep 9 - I was SO fed up with Shirasaki. He's not even LISTENING to Asami. He's just focused on his own acting, "catching up" to Asami and proving he's worthy to "be by Asami's side as an actor."

How much more clueless can he be about what his partner is going through? I just wanted to slap him. What a selfish a-hole.

I'm in the middle of Ep 6, and I STILL have no idea what's going on.

Normally that would be a big turn off and I'd drop the show. But this series seriously has me intrigued. So I'm hanging in there.

One thing I will say......I'm not sure about Win. He seems alternately sweet and then kinda twisted. If he really "loves" Alan, why doesn't he tell Alan more? He is obviously hiding stuff.

Ep 4 - This whole episode had me in HYSTERICS, HAHAHAHAHAHAHA

- Jerky, misplaced and out of focus, then suddenly focused camera shots.

- @4:54, someone off screen actually moved a plant out of the way to get a better shot. I BURST into laughter when I saw that.

- Right after the plant weirdness, Jae Hun's character was manhandling Hae Jun, and it sounded like they hired some big hairy truck driver to stand off camera and make all of the grunting sounds.

This series is SO bad, LOLOLOLOL.

Special Episode premieres tomorrow (24.11.2025) on WeTV FINALLY!!😭🥳
You mean a different "special episode" than the one that was released a long time ago (Ep 12.5)?

SPECIAL EPISODE has been announced!!!!
The special episode (Ep 12.5) actually came out after the series ended. So it was released a long time ago.

Not sure why they're promoting it as if it's new.

The actor playing Fan Xiao is not Thai. His name is Yun Qi and he is Chinese.
In the series he's playing a Thai man who does business with and hangs out with Chinese people.

That's why his character is always saying things along the lines of "My Chinese is not good." and "I'm sorry about my language skills." And then every once in a while, a voice is dubbed in that "supposedly" is him speaking or thinking in Thai.

Yep, Fan Xiao looks like a vampire, and he even keeps saying "I want a bite."

NGL, I was kinda hoping this would surprise us all and turn into an actual vampire BL.

Title That Summer Spoiler
I think, as a paired couple, Winny and Satang have gotten better and better. They're not the super hot, super NC-scene couple that some others are, but their partnership feels realistic and sweet.

Not realistic as in "Oooh, are they a couple in real life?"

I mean realistic as in............ on screen they are physically comfortable with each other, speak to each other realistically, argue, make up, get grumpy, act affectionate, touch and cuddle each other realistically, are intimate but not in a gratuitous way (I wish their kissing style was a little better, but that is my only complaint), etc. They laugh together realistically, and I think they genuinely enjoy each other's company both as actors and friends. I just really, really like them as a paired couple.

I also enjoyed this series. it really did feel like a summer love that, thankfully, went beyond that. The beautiful island scenery, the beach, the waves, the people, the mostly gentle story with some drama, but not too much.....they all contributed to the wonderful atmosphere of the series, too.

it's correct, in japanese, their names differ by only one letter.
Thank you. That's good to know.

But since it will be on Netflix, and since many of the websites (like MDL) are in English, that's confusing for western viewers.

---------------------------------------

Ten years ago, there was a happy family. Mom, Dad, Sungwoo and his older brother, Sungkyu. One day, Sungkyu mysteriously disappeared and never came back.

(NOTE: For purposes of trying to make sense of everything I'm going to type below, I'm going to guess/assume the younger brother was 8 years old and the older brother was 11 years old when he disappeared.

After the real Sungkyu disappeared, the Mom had a mental breakdown. The Dad left because he couldn't handle it.

The Dad still loved his wife and Sungwoo, so he adopted a boy to live with the mom and son, and got the boy to pretend to be the older lost brother who has "come back home." The dad hoped that, by doing that, he could help heal his wife's mental illness and depression.

But that boy ended up leaving, so the dad adopted another "Sungkyu". This scenario was repeated over and over, for 10 years. None of the boys ever stayed, once they realized just HOW dysfunctional the family was.

During all of that time, the younger brother Sungwoo became resentful and distrustful, totally unwilling to invest his emotions in any of the boys who became his (temporary) adopted brothers because he knew they would just leave again anyway.

Then one day a new "Sungkyu" (the eleventh brother out of all the ones that were adopted) shows up. Once again, Sungwoo is angry and kicks the new "brother"'s suitcase down the front steps. He says "Don't lie to me. Just lie to Mom," meaning his mother is still detached from reality and the new "Sungkyu" should follow the script - lie to her and make her believe he's the older son who has come back home.

Only this time, things are different.

The new boy seems to have a secret - one that is never shared with the viewers. Sungwoo even senses something is different. He keeps asking the new boy who he really is, but "Sungkyu" never explains his real identity.

The new boy declares he wants to live with the family forever, and he tries to blackmail Sungwoo by saying he will reveal that Sungwoo is gay if he makes things difficult. Sungwoo demands to know how Sungkyu knows he's gay, but Sungkyu never explains that, either.

Sungwoo - who, it seems, is a senior in high school - has never really told his boyfriend much about himself, because how could he possibly explain his family's strange circumstances? Even when the boyfriend confronts him directly and demands to know more about Sungwoo, Sungwoo can't bring himself to open up. So the boyfriend dumps him.

The mother has really taken a shine to the new "Sungkyu" and she starts smiling a little more. He is actually quite good with her, and understands he must be kind because she's rather childlike in her detachment from reality.

"Sungkyu" is still unwilling to explain his real identity, so it's hard for Sungwoo to trust him. But there's a growing attraction between them.

Eventually they can't stop themselves, and there's a shower scene where they kiss. The next scene shows them mostly naked, so we know they had sex.

The mother is totally oblivious to all of this, and the viewers see the boys kissing before the younger brother heads off to school. That's where it ends.

--------------------------------------------------

After watching, I had questions that will probably never be answered.

1) What if the new "Sungkyu" is actually the REAL brother who came back??

Based on my earlier assumption about the boys' ages when the older brother disappeared, Sungwoo is now 18 and the real Sungkyu would be 21. Ten years have passed, and the older brother's appearance would have changed quite a bit from when he was younger.

Sungwoo often finds himself looking at his new "brother," and you can practically see the question marks floating around in his brain. He keeps asking Sungkyu who he REALLY is, but Sungkyu never answers.

Also, there's a scene where the Mom, Dad and two "brothers" are having dinner. The Mom keeps looking....REALLY looking.....at Sungkyu in a questioning way. So it seems like she might recognize him. But it's never pursued.

2) If that ^^^^^ is what's happening, then a disturbing realization forms.

If "Sungkyu" is the real older brother who finally comes home, it means that his relationship with Sungwoo is incestuous. It might also be the reason Sungkyu left all those years ago (even though (by my assumption) he would have been only 11 at the time) - because he found himself having weird feelings for his younger brother and knew it was wrong.

3) If that ^^^^ is NOT the case, then we and Sungwoo are left with no clue who the new "brother" really is, because he never discloses anything about himself in the 21 minutes of viewing time.

At the end, all we are certain of is that this time, the new "Sungkyu" is determined to stay. And that at the very least, he and Sungwoo have a sexual relationship.

We also hope that this time, the mother will be happier. And we know that, according to a statement by Sungwoo, the dad had made a promise years before that he would return home if the mom got better. But.......we also see the father give Sungwoo a "some day you will understand why I did what I did" kind of speech, so we don't really know for sure what is in store for the family's future.

In conclusion, the family has entered a NEW level of dysfunction. And there are still secrets for which the answers will never be uncovered.

------------------------------------------------------

So.......that's my take. I could be WAY off base, so take everything I said with a grain of salt.

In the scene where the tattoo can be seen from the front, it's quite large. The placement and the size means that it should also be visible from the side, as well as in the brief flash from the front before the closer shot.

But it's just not there in the first two parts I mentioned.
