For novel readers, has the drama adapted the novel well? Are there any differences? How is the pacing? If I'm not mistaken the book is split into 2 books.

When the ML shows up and the main OST starts playing in EP10. This OST is one of the best I have heard in a long time, the instrumental lowkey gives me chills.

Of course a drama would never actually fully adapt the harem. They would never do that, many harem adaptations of famous novels have stuck to the 1 lover route (Usually being the main wife/first wife). Personally I enjoy those novels as long as its written well, but it depends.

Well in the original novel XQA has a harem lol. Huai Qing becomes the empress with XQA's help and she is pregnant with his child. His main wife is Lin An, and he has a few more lovers as well. I personally prefer Huai Qing as well tbh.

Huaiqing's actress has me falling in love everytime she appears lol.

Acting in the last few scenes of EP8 was just phenomenal. JCW’s acting ability never ceases to amaze me.

We should have received a full drama on Qin Shiyue and Yu You instead T_T. I like this couple so much more.

Never been this annoyed with a FL in a while. Her character is so horrendous, not to mention the terrible friend she has that has no idea what she's doing with her own life. So frustrating, but I have come too far to stop without seeing the end.
