One day....maybe one day.... Taekyung will miss shinwoo when he will be with daon! Eating rameyon, watching movies,…
I was actually thinking about that moment in the trailer. Either, as you said, it's possible Shinwoo just isn't there but there's another option too, that he's standing on stage with him. We don't see Taekyung either when he's making the speech, do we?

Also this is ignoring all the other clues like the OSTs, ending animation, promos. Those are definitely big indicators as to the end game couple but that's a different kettle of fish entirely :P

Title Light on Me
I don't know how to explain it but Taekyung and Da On, although they share a lot of screentime, have very different storylines.

Taekyung's storyline is about finding friendship and (starting at about episode 3) love, it's outward focussed. Before the show even started Taekyung was happy and at peace with who he was, he doesn't struggle with self-acceptance and he doesn't seem to care what others think about him either. Instead what he struggles with is his relationship with those around him and, as a result, that's the focus of his storyline: a journey to find the people he loves (either platonically or romantically) and to have them love him in return.

Da On's storyline, on the other had, IS about self-discovery and self-acceptance, it's inward focussed. Unlike Taekyung, Da On already knows his place in the world and has all the love and friends he needs but what he struggles with is loving himself. As a result: his journey isn't about his relationship with other people, it's about his relationship with himself, it's much lonelier than Taekyung's journey because even though he has his friends by his side, no one can really make the journey with him, he has to do it on his own.

Ultimately I feel like this is a big reason why they can't be end game, because although their storylines overlap and mix together, they're about very different things and they have very different end points.

(Idk if I explained this very well but I thought I'd try and explain from a story writing perspective what's going on with Da On and Taekyung and why, even though they share some much screentime together, it's very unlikely they'll be end game)

ntm he's been growing closer to Shinwoo this whole time! they aren't starting from 0 with these last eps, these…
Very true, they've been laying the foundations for Tae and Shinwoo since the beginning (if you count the butt incident) or ep 3 (if you want to start from Shinwoo being nice and Tae noticing). The building blocks are already there, they just need to but put together :P

And yes, the things that have and are happening with Da On happened way too early if he was supposed to be end game: realising feelings, confession, conflict, they would all happen later if they were end game.

Exactly! Even if we don't get to see them properly together by the end, I'm happy with one that implies they're together later ~

Personally he seems like a clear first lead to me, a lot of the things he does with and for Tae are given a lot of weight and meaning (just in terms of how they're filmed and scripted) and although he's had fewer interactions with Tae than Da On, they are always very important ones. There's also the matter of his keyring being in the opening and closing credits (which I think would be weird to include if it wasn't him).

I'm pretty confident that, if Tae and Shinwoo aren't together by the end of the series then it'll be an open end that shows us they will get together in the future.

I know a lot of people are worried that there's only 5/4 episodes for Tae to fall for Shinwoo and that it could end up feeling rushed but remember these episodes are 25/30 minutes long! That's 2 hours (or 2 hours and a half) of run time, that's longer than most feature films so there's still plenty of time for things to happen!

There's always the potential for the final episode to have an extended run time (even if it's only 10 mins extra). A lot of KBLs have done that and there's always a chance it could happen here :)

As someone who works with a big variety of students with special needs: Sang Tae is spot on. You may not like…
Thank you, as someone who also works closely with people on the Autism spectrum and their families, I was actually pleasantly surprised with how the issue was portrayed. The fact that the writer went to great lengths to show that while Autism was a part of him, Sang Tae was more than just his diagnosis was really nice (especially when there are definitely other cases where that is not the case). Sang Tae was Sang Tae, he was certainly not a stereotype (and to label him as such could be very damaging to others who present similar behaviours so the author's use of that term does not sit well with me).

The relationship between the brothers was realistic as well, being a carer (of any kind) can be incredibly rewarding and beautiful but it can also be just as difficult and draining and I think it's really good that the writer looked at both sides of the relationship.

As OP said, I really hope that in future the author informs themselves a bit more on Autism and the issues around it before writing anything more about it because, unfortunately, it seems that in trying to combat the "stereotypes" they have accidentally fallen further into them.

No one can say I didn't try but unfortunately the second season just wasn't for me and that's okay. Ultimately IPYTM told me a story I found I wasn't interested in (and not because of the cheating btw, there are plenty of shows I've enjoyed that deal with the topic of cheating and IPYTM did an admirable job of portraying the fall out from emotional infidelity for both parties), about a couple I found I no longer I no longer believed in, in part because they genuinely seemed happier with other people (or single, people seem to forget that's an option that can lead to happiness too.....).

Still a memorable series though and I think a lot of people will really enjoy it (although maybe not those strongly against cheating, they should maybe give this a miss....) and I look forward to future projects from the writer, the company, and (of course) the actors!

I enjoyed Youth of May, it portrays an important moment in recent Korean history in a way that is both accessible and sensitive and I'm glad to see so many people saying it encouraged them to research the May Uprising and find out more about what happened.

It's not a perfect drama (I did have a few issues with it both from a story telling point of view and from a historical point of view) but I would definitely recommend it to anyone interested in learning a bit more about Korean history and enjoying a solid story along the way!

why are all of you theorizing about a tragic ending? i've watched the first two episodes and didn't see any hints
The backdrop of this drama is the Gwanju Uprising, a deeply tragic (and brutal) event that left a deep scar on South Korea's recent past. Unless they decide to completely gloss over the things that happened during that time then there's no way this drama is going to end happily for all (or even most) of the characters.

1st episode was a bit boring for me and I even thought do not continue, but (!) 2nd episode was on top! I'm hooked…
I think the idea is for viewers to try and work out which of the central characters it is. I'm sure they'll start dropping hints (both in the past timeline and maybe even the 'present day' timeline) about who it is.

I'm already begin to try and work out all the ways this show is probably going to make me cry and the list is…
So far I have:

1) The younger brothers (it feels like one of them is probably going to die)

2) The police man and Soo Ryun (I can't see how they can have a happy ending)

3) The students (same for the students)

4) The character's relationships with their fathers (it really feels like something will happen here)

5) The main couple (I actually think there's a chance they'll be okay but, depending on how heavy the drama wants to get, there's also a chance that they won't be)

when will we get a 45 min ep Korean BL Drama T.T this one would have been the perfect one to start that trend…
Yep! 9 episodes at 30 minutes each so we might actually be getting somewhere with having longer BLs.

There's going to be one that has 30 min long episodes that starts airing on the 22nd of January! That's the longest run time so far for a Korean BL!

I don't normally like promoting other shows in the comment section but I just found out that there's going to be another LGBTQ/BL k-drama airing soon called "To My Star" and I thought some people here might find it interesting.

With only 2 episodes out it doesn't 'deserve' any kind of rating.
The 'you' I used was in general, not you specifically.

And yes, lots of people do rate based on their feelings and that's fine, what's premature is saying a drama 'deserves' a rating two episodes in when there's very little to base that judgement off other than personal taste. I am literal not arguing against you.
