Title Closer to You Spoiler
I thoroughly disagree. The ML often spoke to the FL with sneering contempt (episode 10 especially highlights this).…
Agreed, this type of plot is better as a short story. I could go on forever about why I didn't like the chinese version but I realized it really depends what you're looking for. I find this one to have a more realistic story of school life, but also less romantic and subtle.

I completely agree with your opinion on the ML, he is a bit cocky/snarky whatever you call it. The ML in the korean version is an ideal, he followed his heart to save the girl, every decision is passionate/somewhat reckless. The ML in this version is more realistic/complex, it feels like he has an agenda and while he also wants to save the girl, he also wants to have fun and take advantage of the situation, every decision is logical/calculated. He's super witty, wise and teaches lessons to everyone, but as a result comes off as not being genuine. I think there is a cdrama trend of this character archetype, see the MLs of: Joy of Life, My Heroic Husband, those are more extreme versions.

They're different fantasies but personally, I prefer the cliche, simple love story that gives me a good cry and lets me live out a sweet dream. It took me years to find this plot, and it really is like the plot in my dreams (I have regrets), as a melodrama fan, the korean version is more how I imagined it.

I dropped this to watch the korean webdrama, it is so much sweeter, and while the ML did make her fall in love, it was more innocent, rather than manipulative, and saving her was the priority. I don't like happy endings that break the rule (someone had to take her place), but it still left a smile on me.

I didn't watch this yet but they seriously made a drama about a guy that goes back in time to manipulate a suicidal girl into falling in love with him and saving her as a side effect? yikes.

I would've been fine if this drama had no romance at all, because when you go back in time to save someone, that should be the priority and an adult attracting a highschool girl using time travel just feels wrong, that's just pure manipulation.

Title The Rational Life Spoiler
I'm on episode 14 and things have slowed down a lot after a promising start, especially in the last couple of…
FL doesn't see ML as romantic interest until ep ~22+ but you see glimpses before that, I wish she was more passionate but this is realistic given their age gap, enjoy the office drama for now.

This drama starts off ok, then feels like it's going nowhere, around halfway it gets very good again, I've never laughed so much watching a drama, all thanks to Li Bai and Xia Er and other funny characters, enjoy!

Don't drop until ep ~17

Title The Rational Life Spoiler
Lmao!! Tell me about it but on happy note it looks like our leads are finally getting together. Can't wait for…
I'm excited for that but honestly, the drama is a bit disappointing recently, it's becoming a bit too playful/feelgood? which is different from how it started out, did they change director? After the "confession", and I have to say it was one of the most beautiful confession scenes I've ever seen, rewatched many times :)
Things started going downhill after that.. a confession is a serious thing, I understand they need to continue working together but they became even closer (without actually dating), which feels off, when did Qi Xiao become so playful? I think there's a more formal confession coming up, but one of them is not reacting normally to this.

Find yourself had an FL that was too childish and now they are trying to make Qi Xiao way too innocent when originally he was supposed to be a mature young person, it's a similar trap. It's unnatural to be so positive all the time. His personality is kinda inconsistent all things considered, or he turned into a "man in love" and that's how he shows it. It's becoming more of a romantic comedy, which is fine if that's what they were going for but they created something so much better and realistic. They are even throwing in these cliche situations to give ML opportunities to romantically save the FL, is it just fanservice from this point on? Am I being too critical or making sense?

Title The Rational Life Spoiler
probably going to take awhile! i'm at ep 18 and not quite there yet :')
I just caught up too, it's a bit disappointing the FL does not feel for him much yet or doesn't consider him, but still super realistic given their age gap. And what's up with all the mandarin speakers here posting on english website (myself included lol)

This is so much better than Find Yourself, and the FL is the main reason why, night and day compared to Victoria, thank god they didn't make her childish. I also prefer Dylan over Song WeiLong, he seems more believable, maybe it's his acting or the way he looks.

So far it's looking like a great drama with mature characters, realistic plot, slight exaggerations like the mothers in this drama, but overall not many flaws, I hope the chemistry stays good as it is now when they are actually together. I'm already getting emotional >_<

I'm not one to like epic war dramas, is this one of those? Looks like it from the trailer.

Best brother sister duo ever (Sun Qi Long and Fei Fei). It's hard to remember since they didn't have much interaction after the beginning.

This drama deserves better than 7.5 or whatever it is rated in chinese sites. It can be too cheesy at times but it's very heartwarming and heartbreaking when it needs to.

Ending was rushed, hacked together by introducing a new magical item, otherwise great drama.

Great cast but can't stand FL and I'm already halfway through this drama. She does not deserve all the care she gets from ML, her boyfriend, her sister. It doesn't make sense everyone loves her so much when she offers nothing in return. The world revolves around her in this drama, and for no good reason.

It doesn't even matter what happened 10 years ago, I'm sure there will be an explanation, but nothing justifies how she treats those close to her, and how they treat her like she's the most precious person in the world.

On My Heroic Husband Feb 26, 2021
I'm about to drop this because of the mc, terrible attitude, not likeable at all, only gets away with it because he's overpowered. He's more cunning than heroic, I would not trust him with my life. Female lead is also not very natural and too soft spoken despite owning a business. He's a Gary Stu character, he has no weaknesses and I think it's supposed to make men feel empowered somehow it doesn't to me.

The drama is a loosely adapted version of the novel. Other than some of the setting and some characters, they're…
this could been better without the comedy and overpowered mc.
