Despite its flaws, I still enjoyed watching it
I decided to watch this drama because of Joseph Zheng, though the reviews were not good enough for the first couple of episodes. I am glad I did so, beacuse, yeah, I agree, that this drama relies heavily on comedy and the genre of 2 male leads always fighting for the female lead, but still, it managed me to keep waiting for the next episode.
The plot was very interesting to watch when it was genuinely serious.
All the actors also did an amazing job in portraying their roles. 👍
Deng Wei as LouQiyan/Zheng Shi really surprised me with his acting skills.
The 3 old lords ans their friendship was very good to watch.
Also, the relationship between Zheng Yuan and his grandson ,Zheng Shi, also was good👌
The costumes, locations, music and even the palace and house sets were also good.
The only drawback I felt was that the plot could have been developed into a much more serious storyline with few comic moments, instead it heavily relied on unnecessary comedy, especially in the first few episodes.
Anyways, I still enjoyed watching it and it is worth to be given a try to watch!!
