On I Need Romance Season 3 Feb 23, 2014
Is it me or is this season just not up to the standards of the previous INR versions? I just can't feel the 'romance' in this one. And a good many number of scenes feel forced and cliche.

Loved your Heirs review. So honestly written and true. Hence the friend request.

Queen Seon Deok would have been a worthy contender for this list but I guess somebody will make a separate 'Capable Ladies' list for sageuks? Oh then there will be no end to the list of names.

And City Hunter's Kim Nana is vastly overrated. Park Min Young did not suit the role of the ass-kicking Nana. I liked the character but her portrayal was unconvincing.

Lawyer Jang is my favorite here.

Title The Great Queen Seondeok Spoiler
This is probably going to be one of the few dramas I'll be giving a 10 on 10 after finishing with it. It doesn't…
Well Bidam dies in the end because whatshisname that sneaky, creepy merchant fellow creates trust issues between Bidam n Deokman. Deokman asks Bidam to go stay at a safe haven some place away from the capital but machoman as Bidam is, he disobeys her and falls right into the trap conceived by Mishil n co to make him defy Deokman. Bidam dies in a really sorrowful, tragic way (ala Shakespearean hero). But his death scene is the most poignant, most beautifully done moment I have ever witnessed in any Korean drama. It will remain etched in my mind forever.
Mishil n co are eliminated in the end. And Deokman dies after a few days of Bidam's death. (Gosh the drama ripped my heart apart with its ending)
But this is what this drama was about - a Queen's legacy and not her love. Deokman's life turned out to be painful in the end. But this kind of a sacrifice is required of any ruler

QSD is such a drama that after you have finished watching it, you will be haunted by Kim Nam Gil's fate in it for days on end. I know since I just finished watching the day before yesterday and I am still in a daze. It feels like a hangover of the worst kind. I almost don't wish to watch anything at the moment. I hope you do watch it some day. It is one of the very few sageuks out there with not even one boring episode. It all just flies by. You too take care!

Hi there JadeDarcy! Your Kim Nam Gil profile pic and your Bad Guy review is what drew me to your profile. I am currently going through a bad Queen Seon Deok hangover phase. I wonder if you watched that drama - KNG gave the performance of a lifetime in it. Gosh my heart hurts for his character in that one.

So glad to find another drama-maniac gushing about a drama that, I too felt, did a great job of exploring complicated themes. Sent you a request since we're chatting already. :)

Haha thank you for liking it. I think the main objective of the drama was to preach human empathy. To make us sympathetic to the plight of others and behave accordingly. Great, great drama!

I have seen He was Cool, Penny Pinchers(didn't like it) and Seducing Mr Perfect. And the You're my Pet movie won't do for me. Since the original Jdrama version of it starring Matsujun is waaaaaaay better. I have read the manga too.
I really need to get back to watching J movies. Thank you for the recos very much. I'll check out the titles mentioned. :)

I hear your voice is fantastic. I am totally addicted to the drama atm. I wonder if I'll have withdrawal symptoms once I finish watching. :(

Also yes. I'm not watching much these days. Just started following I hear your voice. And I have my eye on Cruel City. Dropped Lee Soon Shin which was getting on my nerves.

Hi sorry about the late reply. But I'm not very regular here. Yes I'm Indian. Good to know you liked Wanee and Junah too. Any other K movie recommendations?

Oh the collage of crazy bitches deserve a few more names like - Yoo He Yi from You're Beautiful, Oh Yoon Joo from My Princess, Se Na from Rooftop Prince, Wang Ji Hye in Personal Preference. Gah too many such annoying characters for my liking.

Haha I did the same. In fact I enjoyed the drama so much I'm currently re-watching it with mom. She is loving it immensely too. In the beginning I did not expect a sageuk to impress me so much but kudos to Jun Ki and Shin Min Ah for reeling me right in. :)
