It means a lot for me.

I could relate to the 8th episode of this show. I wanted to die like the main character of this ep twice. First, when I was a student. My teacher's double-standard grading ruined my life. There was no way to get a good grade from him. The second time, I felt like that, was when I worked. I worked 7 days a week and also at night. I lost my goal and destiny, and I had no life-expectancy. I wish all students and all workers would be fine. I just pray for them. You do not have only your job, but you also have your life and your family too. Cheer up to everyone!

I watched this for Song Yan Fei. There are many unexpected hilarious scenes for entire show. I like both main characters. It's so enjoyable to watch. First half, I had not skipped at all. It's rare for me, not to skip or play at 2x. I would cheer you guys up to watch the show. There is nothing, but laughing.

The female lead role is too childish. I don't like childish female character. I hate the particular role, but I admit, Zhao zhao yi is an excellent performer. She could make all scenes interesting. She is talented. This is one of the early Chinese shows I completed all the episodes. I also look for other work with her.

First K-show I completed in my life

This is the first Korean show I completed in my life. I could not remember if I watched it in 2024 or 2025. There have been plenty of Korean movies and TV shows on free TV channels in my location. Generally, I would just skipped the channel, because I am bored of narcissistic male characters who always tried to take women down. Most Korean shows got the troop, but this show made me see their progression.

I wish to see more development in the future. The point-of-view characters in K shows are the most boring type. They have to be too perfect from the first till the last ep. I wish to see more complex and unpredictable characters. It would be more interesting that way. You know? the character who is more like human, not the wannabe version of someone.

Here it is! Jeremy could make it!

About Jeremy Xu: The guy showed up in the second half of this show. His role gave me a Wow! Previously, I watched Braveness of the Ming, and Jeremy's character is the funny fool, like, the character who will die first in slasher films. During the time, I watched Legend of the Phoenix and Dugu, his role is just the stereotyped male lead and not interesting at all. For here, Whispers of Fate, his performance is definitely awesome. The characteristics of the character are like Joker, Riddler, and villains in old Disney film. It's the male character with queerness or sissy. If you want to know more, please search with keywords "queer-coded" or "queer-coding" villain in scholar article websites. Most academic works interpret that this is the negative role of character. I have never hated Jeremy Xu for that, but what I want to state here, is that, he could make it. The only skillful performers could do this. Jeremy could perform as many different characters, from the funny fool, the funny male lead, the stereotyped boring male lead, and here!! he could act the sissy villain role. This guy is more than talented, he is the REAL excellent one.

About the show: Whispers of Fate is something special for me, because it had been for my family series night for a month, and I don't know why (our previous series nights are way more interesting, like watching IT, FBI, DUNE, Chucky, The Boys, Arrowverse). Everyone in the house sat and watched Whispers of Fate together without skipping, even I felt bored in many episodes. You know? In some episodes, the characters just drank tea and talked for the entire ep. In some ep, some character was just sick and did not do anything. In some ep, they just played hide and seek and nothing happened.

Something I like: My favorite thing about this show is turquoise and red scheme of some background, which the pair of colors later have been used in many drama cover/poster and women's outfits.

Something I dislike: Thing I do not like about this show is that there is no female role model for girls to learn and imitate. Both female protagonists were weak. One of them knew how to fight, and her master said that she was intelligent. However, she was not that. She got captured, and many male characters had to go out to save her. I was very disappointed.

Slow and Sleepy

I do not know why this show is so famous. I watched it 3 times without being able to remember. Every time, I skipped, like, I watched every third or forth episode. I might skip and see different episode every time I watched this. The plot is very slow. Not only plot actually, because in many scenes, the editors or vfx made them very very slow. I watched it at 2.0x, but all characters still moved slower than usual.

Stockholm syndrome? Really?

This drama is very dangerous for young girls to watch. The main female protagonist might have Stockholm syndrome to fall in love with her perpetrator. In real life, the psychopathic people will not change their personality easily, and it is rare for them to have real love. Generally, I could see many main male protagonists in Chinese dramas got narcissistic personality trait, but in Love of Nirvana and Fated Hearts, the main male roles are worse than narcissism. The personality is psychopathy.
You could read this article, "Unwanted personal contact and risky situations in ten Disney animated feature films" written by Wendy E Hovdestad, David Hubka, and Lil Tonmyr. In old Disney films, main female protagonist only aware of the unwanted contact by non-attractive male characters, while they allowed attractive male character to touch them. In Love of Nirvana, things are worse than interpersonal contact, because it is the attempt to murder.

In fact, I watched this show for Jeremy Xu, but his role in this drama is not interesting at all. The characteristics of the character are just like general male lead stereotype, like, hold still a lot, emotionless, no sense of humor, seem to be dictative. Jeremy Xu has higher talent and skills than the stereotyped ML role, unlike most famous Chinese actors, who act similarly in all dramas they got cast.

ကြောက်စရာရုပ်ရှင်

Good casting! GWG really looks like a vampire even without makeup. Interesting opening scene and first ep. I continued watching this until the final ep. It gave me chills for a while, because I like horror movies. Although this is not horror at all,it's closer to horror than all dramas I watched during the time.

မကြိုက်ဘူး

Again with Mary Sue trope and powerful female character as the major villain. The Mary Sue is surrounded by many male character. She is important. She is saved, helped, and loved by many male characters. On the other hand, the female character with enthusiasm and motivation (positive value for women in real world) is the villain. I do not understand why the media do not like powerful women. I wish to see more women in China controlling the business and being important politicians. China needs female role models in media.

Best Chinese Film Ever Made!

Frankly, I used to have a very negative attitude toward Chinese media. I hated almost all of the Asian stuff, except Japanese Kaiju-related media and Indonesian horror films. I accidentally turned the TV on and saw this movie, Reset (2017). I watched it and I really really liked it. I suddenly judged that China is the developed country in term of society and attitude of people. Later, I tried to watch more Chinese movies, but most of them make me sick, because of the misogyny, fragile female roles, Stockholm girl who loved narcissistic male protagonist. I stopped watching Chinese media for many years after that period, until 2025. I started to heavily watch Chinese media in 2025, after seeing Jeremy Xu in Braveness of the Ming. However, I am disappointed about the plots of many dramas. There is no REAL strong female protagonist, but in this movie, Reset. The quality of this movie is like horror and thriller films made by Warner Bros and Blumhouse. The role of women could teach young girls what they should really learn. Adult women are really adults. They are not childish like in those dramas.

The plot is too simple

The plot is too simple, even there are much to play with when the room is allowed people from different time to communicate. My most favorite movie with similar plot it Blumhouse's Don't Let Go (2019). That story is just a movie, very short actually. The format of Love in Time is serial, not episodic series. By the length, they are allowed make this show more complex and more interesting. They did not make it. I do not know if the plot was from some novel or re-make of some old show, and I just try to guess that the pre- and production team were not allowed to change the plot.

Anti-feminism theme

The show starts as sexual independence of women. You could see women help and save other women in the story. The later part, the story continuously gets worse. You will see women try to drag other women down, and also women who chose to support men and patriarchy instead of support other women. I feel deeply disturbed and disappointed, and I could also relate this to some real-world situation. In some organizations, few women got promoted, but these women also tried to prevent other women to get promoted. And this show also reflects the truth about the glass ceiling, which does not allow women to reach a high position in organization.
Supporting female character in Chinese drama could not be survive if she did something wrong, female leading character could lie a lot and still be forgiven, and male character could make mistake multiple time and he remain hero.

Weak and fragile female police

First, I thought that the main female protagonist would be stronger than this. Very disappointed. She always needs male characters to save her, even she knows how to fight. I think this degrade women and also female police-officer in the real world. I watched the show, The New Force (2025), too. The show portray a group of female police-officers who fight like hell for the next generation and gender equality. It's so different from the female leading role in here.
