Actually thoroughly enjoying this drama for what it is, a light drama that I can enjoy without having to overthink. Sure there are clichés but for me they actually work well in this drama. This drama definitely doesn't subvert them by any means but I think its all about how it's presented. The acting is for the most part natural, the chemistry is there for all 3 CPs, I actually like the script of this cdrama and I typically lean on the meh side of liking any modern cdrama writing. The directing is good, I shockingly like the animation and the lighting in this drama is gorgeous. There's no insta love between the main leads either. I've watched up to episode 13 and I can't tell if there's any actual romantic feelings there. Not to say that you can't tell that something is building, but it's not in your face. I absolutely love the older sister too.
Also, main ML's voice is so nice to me. I have that same thought every episode I watch lol 😆
I love watching the Qiao Xin and Xu Wei Zhou pairing. With shows like this I expect for there to be that bent where certain things are manufactured just in the way that "reality" shows are by nature but QX and XWZ get along extremely naturally. Like you can tell they get along great in real life.

If I remember correctly this particular reporter has a long nasty history of malicious reporting and has been sued by many well-known and respected celebrities who have won against him.
I also think he was the reporter who reported prior to IOTNB that SYJ and KSH had dated, but then she started dating his cousin who is a part of the business side of Goldmedalist (their agency). That story was not true so I tend to side-eye anything he says tbh.
I do agree about SK's societal issues though on both sides of the coin. Where they hold celebrities to a much higher standard, where almost nothing is forgiven and any mistake makes you the anti-christ. And where public opinion can sway anything which imo should never be the case. On the other hand, they tend to be fickle on their morals depending on who the person in question is.
Ultimately, I think in the cesspool of K-entertainment what SYJ did is minor in comparison to others. I also don't think she's had no repercussions; she was dropped from a previous drama (Island), had all of her advertisements drop her and has laid low for 5 months. This offer does not mean she's coming back. She may choose not to. I personally don't believe what she did calls for career obliteration.

I miss her. I'd welcome her return. People are allowed to make mistakes. None of us are angels and she's no different. I wonder if the full texts were released, not just what Dispatch chose to release, and it showed that she wasn't the only one making immature demands how the public would react? Not that I would wish for anymore invasion of either of their privacy.
I actually don't think it has anything to do with connections and more to do with publicity for a drama about a massive scandalous divorce that's based on a real life one. Who better than someone who is in the midst of a (blown out of proportion) scandal? It's business. And would actually be smart for both the production and SYJ.
100% here for this if it happens. SYJ is extremely talented and her personal life was blown out of proportion. She was immature in a relationship, who the hell hasn't been at one point? The only difference is we don't have the world watching and judging us for it.
If SYJ is in it I'll watch it. According to Soompi this drama is a hot topic in the entertainment industry because of the script. I'm hoping she'll have a mega successful comeback even if this particular offer falls through. Don't care about her "scandal". She made a mistake (like humans do) and it was honestly blown way out of proportion imo.
I was referring to Chen Ruo Xuan. He's no longer listed as the ML. That's who's project as the 1st ML I'm looking forward to. Now it appears to be Yang Mi and Gong Jun (listed on Douban), although it's not confirmed.

Premieres August 19. Not sure what the chances are of it being subbed but I would be interested in watching. Not generally a variety show gal but the previews actually look really cute.
Started out cute enough but then I realized I stopped watching half-way through and didn't feel the need to pick it up again... Intially started it because of Xu Wei Zhou but found the FL to be very cute and pretty natural at acting. Didn't complete it but it's a good drama if you want something light and sweet without having to think much.
