I love this show. I love the leads, the chemistry, the story in general, but I'm not completely biased as to not see that certain flaws exist. Personally for me episode 7 didn't flow well, but episode 8 more than made up for it (and not just for the romance, even though that was good). Now impatiently waiting for episode 9.
Also no one should have to force themselves to like a show. If something doesn't work for you, it doesn't work. Time should be spent on what you enjoy, not on something you're told is good but you don't enjoy.
I don't want to harp to much on the romance aspect of the show because there is so much more to this show than that, but the only reason people seem to feel the "romance" was rushed, out of nowhere or forced is because y'all are not understanding that not all intimacy is based on romantic feelings. These two characters are going through a situation that only they can understand so of course they would seek comfort in each other. Furthermore, Bong Sang Pil imo had already fallen for her or had at least developed some romantic feelings for her since he had been watching her for years. Let me repeat, for YEARS. That man says her name with so much emotion you can't tell me he hasn't fallen for her and have me believe you. At any rate, they slept together, aren't denying it and I'm eager to see where it goes.
I get what you are saying. I'm kind of over the highly stylized k-drama kisses though I guess I'm seeing them…
Are you saying you thought this one was highly stylized ? I didn't get that feeling.
I just like the different take on a first kiss because usually in a kdrama when the leads have their first kiss they've both decided they're already in love with each other (even if it hadn't been verbalized yet) and that is so not the case here. Are there feelings? I believe so, but it's not at the love stage. And that's so much more realistic because in the real world a kiss doesn't have to start with love...it usually doesn't.
Their kiss in episode 6 has got to be one of my favorite (if not my favorite) kdrama kiss ever because of how understatedly sexy it was. This was not a lustful or hungry kiss. This was kiss fueled by pure emotion. It was slow, tender and warm. I could literally feel them savoring every moment of this kiss and not because of romantic feelings necessarily, but because this was them taking comfort in each other. So realistic and absolutely beautiful.
Its a fast paced generic drama so far. Bong Sang Pil trying to defend Ha Jea Yi but putting her into all this…
BSP went to jail for being in contempt of court. That's a legal action that happens plenty of times with police officers/lawyers. You don't get your license taken away for that.
4 episodes in and this show continues to be fast-paced, well executed, flawlessly acted and plain fun. Jae Yi continues to be a kickass female character and not because she has no problem taking men down (or anyone really), but because she is so steadfast in her resolve without being over the top. She knows where she stands and if you plan on making her budge then you damn well better have actual evidence, no blanket statements for her. I loved that when CMS told her that she trusts too easily she didn't get defensive, all she said was 'really?'. I love that she's never told BSP that he's wrong about his stance on CMS, just that he needs to prove it to her. Even when the guy in jail said some comments about CMS all she asked was why would he say that. She's never concerned with telling people they're not right because she's well aware that they could be. She's not naive, she's level-headed. In simple terms, she's awesome.
This show is so good. Awesome cast. Awesome chemistry between the leads. Kickass female lead. Seriously Seo Ye Ji's girl crush vibes are off the charts here. I need the next episode asap!
Yes writing reviews early can be ridiculous, but it's acknowledged on the review that she's only seen 2 of the 16 episodes (unless you're viewing on a phone) so clearly she's reviewing the 2 episodes she's seen. It's no different than writing comments down here or rating the show before all 16 episodes air...
The waiting has gotten more and more ridiculous. I cannot believe Viki has yet to release an official statement about the subs issue. Unbelievably unprofessional.
Only watched raw episodes and still waiting on subs but it looked good. And the chemistry between SYJ and LJK is good, subs or no subs.
It's kicking ass in the ratings though, going up by almost 1% from the 1st episode to the 2nd and has pretty much mainly positive reviews from critics. In fact all four of the leads were listed in the top 10 breakout actors from good data for the 2nd week of May. Can't wait to finally get the subs to gauge for myself.
I watched several episodes, now dropped this twice. It's not a bad show but I cannot see any chemistry between…
Well chemistry is subjective. I for one that the show was kind of bad in that the writing was weak and the plot outside of the arranged marriage was convenient, but the chemistry kept me watching. I definitely wouldn't go around recommending the show in general tho.
This guy has such hilarious facial expressions. I've only seen him in Save Me and as much as a disgusting creep his character was, HE was really good in it.
Ji Hyun Woo (Boong Do) was so swoon-worthy in this. I don't think I've ever swooned so hard for a male character (outside of Doctors Son in Cruel City) while watching a kdrama. I don't typically rewatch kdramas, but this one is definitely high up on the rewatch value and I just may.
