Episode 9 was peak comedy omg. I love the leads interactions so much. They both have their own skill sets, but are both smart and resourceful in their own way. And the CHEMISTRY. I love that they manage to be both hilarious and oddly sweet together.
It is, but I think it has to do with Qin Yan not having romantic feelings for him. Imo he's a romantic pawn for…
I'm just happy there's a drama that's depicting a woman standing up for her rights in a healthy way (atleast in the first 8 episodes). Like she's not out of her bounds of what she deserves. Love it.

She's a grey character that's stuck between a rock and a hard place, who atm, doesn't have many options, but I agree. I hope the actual romance storyline between Qiu Yan and Liang Yi starts to pick up so we can move away from this. Although I do actually enjoy QY and QX interactions, just not in a romantic way.
Jeremy has a great voice. I love that the actor's voices aren't dubbed. I watched another drama with him and he was really intense in that drama as well. He seems to do well in these types of roles.
This is also a great role for Qiao Xin.
It's great to have a drama where you can be behind both male and female lead characters!
So they're already dating?? any love triangle? some bitches?? main vilain according you? thanks
No, they're not dating. Their interactions together are entertaining so far with good chemistry. There's not a traditional love triangle as the mains don't have feelings for each other so far. The fl is basically using the 2nd ml as a means to an end although I can tell she does like him in general. The ML "likes" her sister but it's all a misunderstanding. I don't know if there's really a "villain" other than societal norms for the fl at that time. And perhaps members of her family who aren't fond of her.
Completed all 8 episodes and I'm loving it. They've been marketing the relationship between Liang Yi and Qiu Yan as 'tit for tat' and they are right on the money. They're so entertaining together. And I also love them individually. A complete win-win for me.
Lol I don't even think QY likes QX in a romantic way. He's just a means to an end for her atm. There's a love square but not in the typical way. It's pretty humorous 😅
I've watched 6 of the 8 episodes released and if they keep up this level of storytelling this is gonna make for…
I love both the male and female lead. They're undeniably drawn to each other even if they don't necessarily want to be. Neither of them is "good" in the general sense and I like how Qiu Yan mentions this to Laing Yi as well. That they're alike which is most likely why they butt heads. I love that the female lead is headstrong and has clear plans but knows when she needs to back down or ask for help.
I super love that this drama is not silly. The way they handled the case in the first 4 episodes was so well done.
I was flabbergasted when I realized that Qiu Yan is the daughter of Madam Liu and not who we are intially introduced to as her mother. It adds an extra level to the storytelling and also adds heft to the dynamic between her and Qiu Min.
The male lead absolutely smoulders and the female lead is smart, meticulous and can be cunning.
Please don't let this drama fall apart like so many other C-dramas 🙏🏽
Me too, if that's even possible at this point lol. I usually try not to have any expectations when it comes to dramas (c-dramas, especially) so as to not end up disappointed but with each trailer and production vid for this drama I get more intrigued. Everything looks so good from the trailers to the posters. Looks way more high quality and big budget than I had originally thought. Please don't disappoint.
Qiao Xin seems to be playing two different characters Qiu Yan and Su Yi Wan. I wonder if this has different lifetimes…
There's definitely undercover work going on. I think they pretend to be a couple which is why in the 2nd trailer released it has them 'fighting' and then ending up under the covers together when someone comes to look for Liang Yi.
Is this dubbed or their real voices? I am not so familiar with both actor and actress real voices except for some…
I believe it's their real voices! I know for certain Qiao Xin isn't dubbed. I've only watched one other Jeremy Xu drama and he was dubbed in that but as far as I can tell from the behind the scenes videos for this, it sounds like he's using his real voice for the drama.
This is my guilty pleasure type of drama...I pray it's good and they release all episodes tomorrow with eng subs.
8 episodes will be released tomorrow for vip users on WeTV (Tencent app) and then only 2 episodes every Saturday and Sunday. Non-vip users will get 2 episodes tomorrow and Sunday, but there will be English subs.
And gotta say, this is one of the rare times where the childhood trope is working for me.
This is also a great role for Qiao Xin.

Edit: Definitely not different lifetimes lol. She's undercover
