Glad for fans then. I skipped spoilers but I know episode 18 was sad so at least the wait won't be too horrible 😎

what makes you prefer this one over Blossom?
Oh my... It's been a while I have seen Blossom so I don't necessarily remember in details but I'd say the two things I remember the most was:

1. Lack of chemistry between the leads contrary to popular opinion.
2. Blossom being basically a soap in a historical setting.

People were selling as this big love story when most of the drama focused on either politics or soap like drama that irritated the life out of me. As mentioned, never felt any chemistry between both actors and found both of their acting flat though I don't know if it was THEM or the script.
Never cared about any of the drama's characters and final nail in the coffin, the main actor wasn't credible as a seasoned warrior... he just didn't have the physical built.

Here Yu Ning's physic is better for the role. Although, there was quite a lot of politics, the drama still centered around the relationship, no stupid soap like situations, good chemistry between the actors and whole set of likable characters. Too long, but at least unlike Blossom, I felt I was in good company during most of this drama's run.

Currently at episode 6 so we'll see if I fall under this show's spell at the same time you did.

For RESET
:D Please do. The villains are a bit cartoonish but if you want ROMANCE, this one is definitely a must 😎 The main pair is just lit.
It's not a flawless show BUT what they do well they do it SO WELL that you just end up not caring about the rest. And that couple just... That's what you call ROMANCE :D

I love this drama to bits but what is up with Armin using hashtags in his speech all the fucking time it feels…
Loooooooooool

Maybe that's a thing of "old people" then. I'm reaching 40, and I often say #this #that out loud to jokingly talk with my friends or colleagues of around the same age... Especially since most of us just don't have any social media accounts πŸ˜‚

Some things you find cringe, WE find cringe and vice versa. Must be a generational thing.
I wanted to check the age of the screenwriters but the site doesn't tell... BUUUUUUUUUUT
it would't be surprising to me, given their picture, that they were born in the 80s like me πŸ˜ƒ

I'm still in the first stages, just about to finish episode 5 but I do have the same impression. The editing and transitions are choppy and it as you wrote it screams " Low Budget" though you do get used to it at some point.

I'm not disliking the show at present... but I'm not whipped yet. I was expecting something darker especially given the tone of the first episode... and while I'm glad they toned Chi Cheng's ass***lery down compared to the first episode, it's a cute comedy so far... which is not what I expected... and gives me lots of second hand embarrassment ( the good kind)。

I'm VERY surprised at how explicit the series is. Was not expecting this from China, even uncensored so this is a nice surprise on one side...

[Though all kisses so far are tongue-less. I'm sorry. French person talking here, if there's not tongue, that's not a kiss, that's just touching lips and faking it... but I know it's a cultural thing.]

But on the other I personally just finished the Thai BL RESET, and everything looks a bit dull in comparison.

It's not the drama's fault... It's just that I'm still in the afterglow of that drama ( and the romance was romancing and chemistry was che-mis-try-ing in that one) and I was looking for something with the same vibe it terms of "grand epic love-story" if you like.

My own fault I just saw the poster and didn't check the tags.

On one side, I want to catch up with the release schedule but on the other... I wonder if it wouldn't be better to stop this show for a couple of days until I'm out of RESET's afterglow to judge this show a little bit more fairly.

Also. I'm getting a cancer by proxy watching this. I really hope these were fake cigarettes because I feel for the actors.

True but One Piece is live action... This is an animated movie.
Don't get why it's listed here either.

The directing is very good but the editing in the first episodes is not the best. It gets much better. Both leads…
Thanks for this answer that is a little bit more pertinent to somebody who has just started the series. My perception is only based on episode 1 currently the previous answers I go felt really out of place. I'm hoping for some amnesia as well for Chi Cheng because yeah, he's really a hard sell from what I've seen in episode 1 πŸ™„

For the plan though, that's just something I've seen in the summary... He hasn't yet made his decision so far buuuuuut you know, without having seen anything... Nice people can turn pretty nasty when they've been wronged repeatedly... I wouldn't necessarily put that in the "red flag" category just yet.

Hmm... Just started this one since everybody's raving about it... no opinion at present except that the directing is a bit... rough? Each transition from scene to scene is bit abrupt and it's missing a bit in the music department...
But maybe that's just the beginning of the show, and it becomes more smooth after?

Suo Wei is really cute and very likable from the get go but my God Chi Cheng is a major red flag and a huge turnoff at present. Hopefully the show will do a good job of changing my opinion regarding this sad individual but right now I don't want him near poor Suo Wei who's a little bit too naive and pure for his own good.

K-dramas used to have 22 episodes. If a drama ended at 12 or 14 episodes it meant it was cancelled early because…
It's actually more a question of budget. K dramas these days are WAY WAY more expensive than they used to be.
On My Lovely Journey Aug 6, 2025
Enjoyed the first two episodes... but this is a show that won't appeal to everyone since it's a very healing, slice of life, not a lot happening in each episode type of show.
I just so happen to be in the mood for this type of drama right now though it's not usually my jam.

Loved the summer vibe, leisurely pace and of course my man Jae Yeong. More of him from now on please!
I utterly loathe the original series thus I really wasn't planning on watching that one... But I can't help it, within Me Mind, the only pair I care about is BossNoeul (please just don't make us wait another 3 years to see them together again in a drama) and I was missing them so I ended up giving it a try.

Way better than Boy Next World but probably because this Cirrus and this Phukan have a shorter story. Also ass** Cirrus though foulmouthed was giving away Phayu vibes and WHO doesn't like Phayu?

They brought back the main couple from the original series just for the NC scenes which on one side was sad, because I would have loved to see the aftermath of that kiss between chronically shy Phu and ass*** Cirrus, but on the other, though very short, that NC scene was lit.

So I rated the original series a 4... But this special... Hmm... An 8. I enjoyed it. Nothing extraordinary... But I got my BossNoeul dose... though I'll probably need to rewatch their part in Love in the Air at some point. I miss this pair.

Finally finished it...
Took a little bit over a month for me and I had to literally force myself to finish it.
It was a good show at first, but I think it seriously started to lose steam around episode 16/17 when both leads really start to work together... After that, it just felt like an overly long epilogue and I quickly lost interest though I wouldn't go as far as calling it boring... it was just not exciting anymore and nothing made me want to watch the following episodes since basically the main draw was the couple's conflicts and how their relation evolved and that only lasted for a 3rd of the drama. After that their relationship is basically smooth sailing so I had nothing to care about except for the political stuffs which I honestly don't give a fudge about ( be it this drama or any other.)

The show remained consistent through its run though albeit for the last 3 episodes which I'm really not a fan of. I don't understand why they had to throw these last dramatics only to get rid of one of the most lovable character of the show.

Anyway that's a 7.5 for me because I reaaaaaaaaaaaaally had to force-watch the last 20 episodes, which though not bad per say were just... not interesting?

The main couple has good chemistry so if that kind of show is your jam, you'll definitely have a good time... Me? I just feel it would have liked it more if it had been shorter. 20 episodes would have been perfect, 24 at most, but 36? Nah.

Still. I understand the hype better on this one than on Blossom so there's that.

Yeah yeah to you. You wrote:

"I really wasn't convinced by Thiwthit. Don't know if it was the acting or the directing, but it was like nails on a chalkboard everytime he was on screen for me. It was just... too over-the-top cartoonish villain for my own taste."

I personally think it wasn't because the actor was bad, but because he was asked to act in this cartoonish way. Personally I found all of his scenes very funny, it was part of the charm of the show, but you're not the only one who didn't like his portrayal.
By the same token First, aka Ren in the series, was just as ridiculous. He just had less screentime.

In the novel yes he died of heartbroken. He reset too but he did not remember anything but dreams about armin…
No idea... I haven't read the novel... I actually bought the whole thing in Thai ( that's 2 books + 1 extra called "7 years later") but I'm still learning the language so I'll probably start those once I've finished the other Thai novel I'm currently reading... Sooooooooo not before 6 months at the earliest since my level still sucks (Currently reading "The Sign" which already have quite a lot of differences in terms of charactarization).

This being said, you can still purchase the main series in English on the MEB app:

https://www.mebmarket.com/ebook-380760-SET-RESET-Vol--1-2-%E0%B8%81%E0%B8%B2%E0%B8%A3%E0%B9%80%E0%B8%81%E0%B8%B4%E0%B8%94%E0%B9%83%E0%B8%AB%E0%B8%A1%E0%B9%88%E0%B8%82%E0%B8%AD%E0%B8%87%E0%B8%94%E0%B8%A7%E0%B8%87%E0%B8%94%E0%B8%B2%E0%B8%A7-%E0%B9%80%E0%B8%A5%E0%B9%88%E0%B8%A1-1-2-English-version

There's a 35% discount still available for 7 days. I personally didn't bother to buy it because there's a couple of other Thai dramas which books I bought the English translations... which weren't good so I ended up not reading them and purchasing their original Thai copies.

I'm not sure how this translation fares though. Might be good. You'll have to ask others if you're interested.

I don't know for the novel but both their deaths are different in the drama.
Armin died a violent death so he was fully aware he died when he did, whereas Thada died in his sleep. He never realized he died and RESET hence when he woke up it just felt like a dream to him. He just didn't connect the dots... But I'm very curious as to if he ever realized the truth in the novel... I'll see when I read it :D

But I personally doubt it. I think they were both asked to act like that. I may be wrong though.
