Looking at our current responses so far, I think we have been immune to rumors...or we have grown into calmer…
I have been let down too many times. I am a jaded rumour follower now, lol. Though I still get hopeful, I don't go into hyper-anticipation mode. Especially today (there were no hints...and I am just tired). But the Compulsive Commiserating Commenting while Waiting has not ended.
*walks in* Ah, surpassed 10k in a day, congrads! I love you people. I hope everyone is well and not getting along.…
that was supposed to be getting along...no idea where that not came from. It must have slide into my sentence after sneaking in among the rainbow wigs.

I can relate to CWN since I love sweets and I hate cold.
Major major spoilers:
His damaged core (damaged by his 'father') was destroyed fighting Mo Ran the first time because he used all his qi (the second battle killed him because he had no core left and threw his all into using his qin which responded to his body because they were the same wood and do the time portal) if I recall correctly. That was why he had the poor constitution and was sick often due to the cold while in the palace. He was also tortured by Song and nearly died bleeding to death by Mo Ran who then changed his mind and decided to make him a concubine. Those were the reason he was ill. But, part of me goes 'hmm,' while reading about Shi Mei's parents. Yes, Chu Wanning was not descendent of a god, but his celestial tree body was made and used by one (and had all those schematics in it from the other YuWu Chu which is where a lot of his personality and ideas came from) . I believe that makes him safe. But there was so much focus on how the demons and gods could not mix (they did in Shi Mei and he was accepted by none) that it does make me worry a tinge for Chu Wanning and Mo Ran's happy ending. It is probably something Meatbun never intended or even thought of. But my angsty brain went there.

I highly doubt it was intended. I am certain she had him pure human or there would have been mention of it somewhere. But, I can't help but think if there was another BBB, it would be him.
I also had a concern about Chu Wanning and Mo Ran that no one ever can give me an answer to. My brain likes to run in circles.

Honestly, just a vibe. He was beautiful, withdrawn, didn't cry, wasn't that strong but healed well, the prolonged use of his qi as a barrier reacted and made him ill at the end, and he had a definite soft spot for the BBB (doing away with the practice his sect held once he was in charge and even adopting one of the last BBB children that would have been made into pills otherwise). But he could just be a regular decent human who would prefer doing his job and making money then any annoying social interactions with ridiculous people and their problems. I doubt it was intended to give that impression, but part of my brain does wonder if he was related to the BBB.

I know it isn't in canon, the only three living main BBBs are the three mentioned in comments. But I have wondered if Jiang Xi was not one (or born of one) as well. I haven't finished reading YuWu though so I'm not sure if it mentioned Jiang's ancestors.
Ok. Almost 1 am my time, since I don't expect to see anything until about 7 am (if it comes at all today, and honestly I think fall might be a better bet...but I'll take it and run if it does drop now. I have already waited all the seasons, lol.) I think I will go and roll around in circles for a while. Check back, then maybe take a nap...or not. Yay caffeine!

Makes you angst, doesn't it?
