yes agreed, this is actress XF is amazing. Hope to see her more in future dramas. Played her role superbly well! Wld have dropped the drama sooner if not for her talented acts and sweet demeanor. best drama is still MingLan, ongoing now is the classic Heavenly sword & dragon saber, Chef Fang is fun & delight to watch.

hmm can understand why RubyLin did it & will look fwd to the movie as well as 'Mulan" in 2020. Although this drama may not be appealing but that strong sense of betrayal pain tragedy & revenge may be it as well as the lovers entanglement, the twists & the plots; ie to say 'entertaining'
Just go for the ride! It will be interesting to know how Li ChenYi is going to plot against the empress, the Gao & the Zhao family for revenge. By getting close to SeSe was the first step he did to get the empress upset as both Goa & Zhao are long time known for 'not friendly' - now that one Gao brother is eliminated in Eps37, LCY pretentious & play act has continue to escalate the three parties turning against & mistrusting one another. Doubt if LCY ever care for Sese that much & having gradually develop feelings for XiaoFeng its now another reason to protect her. The 'slap' face scene was funny as well as the remarks make "useless crown prince' ... - so just go for the ride & not being stressed by that ending part. While waiting for subs (& The Legends too); discovered a lighthearted drama "Chef Fang" all 37 eps subbed & its a delight & fun to watch with good sweet endings !
It might be better to watch the uncut if you don't mind watching it on chinese sites, especially for ep 18/19…

Hi wld highly recommend story of MingLan first; Princess Agents (same strong female lead - Zanilia LiYing) Ashes of Love; Nirvana in Fire; (hints; on Viki anything above 9.2 rating is good) worth watching. Eternal Love is okay & was disappointed with Never let you Go - all close to the main female lead died! - overall its something to watch if there is nothing else plots & acting so so.

Having watched great chinese costume production like Nirvana in Fire Legend of Condor Heroes Princess Agents etc. etc. this one is so so I like costume dramas & after Story of MLan ( a must see) there isn't any good dramas left to watch just this one, Goodbye Princess, Legend of HaoLan (dropped), so managed to finish watching & left with disappointment -- all close to main female lead Buqi died - meaningless and makes no sense !

hang in there ! when story of MLan first came out most people too commented 'slow' etc. - i make a comment on Viki when it was first released - 'to sit back relax & enjoy the drama with a cup of tea & snacks' -- in a way a change after the dramatic sword fighting from EverNight & SpiritFightSpheres & the weather was cold then! -- - Don't Give Up ! (yet) if any encouragements ; J - the first reviewer wrote a super description "a rich tapestry of Song dynasty life" - & later Jordan too gave strong reviews & lately was all out to promote the drama! - it was a torture then as we have to wait for the eng subs. Truly that is one good drama story production not to be missed. lol

so soo true about Vinn not getting a good role to play. As like any great dramas, actors/actress shined greatest with the right scripts right plots right story right production & right directing! Wishing too Vinn will get a good better character to play in & with the right supporting actress. Just like the amazing great drama story of MingLan - both ZLY & Feng acted so beautifully well in their respective roles.
Alas! Wow! this beautiful invigorating awesome story has come to an end & at the right time during Chinese New Year ! The drama has over shot their highest % rating in china! Kudos to the MeiDaxia team & all the reviewers ! Some highlights to ponder --- (i) emperor overwhelmed with good harvest .." ... this can feed everyone a full meal ... its the world's greatest treasure ..." / (ii) EDowger very contend " .. its getting better every year .. ; wishing you great health .." /(iii) ML father reminding us .. " such rukus in the shrine quite disrespectful ... / lastly MLan happily commented .. " true .. this is life ,,, love this kind of quiet easy life ..... " ---- in a way reflecting how the country & the people have changed during the last few centuries - thanks to the current disciplined control government disciplined; high five to the president (=emperor) as a 15 yoa in the 70's did some hard labor work in the farm (eg carrying manure) - been visiting the poorest villages for the last 10/15 years & succeeded in getting the poverty from 80% to 30% in a short period of time, great economy infrastructure growth as we see today - common people now wishing a better life & healthy future ! somewhat this amazing story showed how much we need strong capable trusting honest leaders in the world for a good better peaceful world to live in!
rest assured QTY is not gone/or dead - its just part of plan to get the enemies in court to do their act & then squash them all with one blow at the rebellion led by QTY - the end eps will be dealing with the empress & last of all the evil step-mom - best invigorating drama!
