Omg please no mention about the novel. The discrepancy between the source material and the drama version is like sky and earth. I don't know but I suspect a bias from the screenwriter team because Wei Yan characterisation so far is so flawlessly well written in comparison to the rest. But I won't complain of course. Our baby Wei Yan 🤭

In the novel while I didn't hate him, I didn't feel much either. But drama version they managed to moved my heartstrings. I'm grateful to the production team for planning such a gem for him. What an amazing surprise

I actually loved it too. I saw no flaw in Wei Yan characterisation so far. I'm so pleased. And loved the joke production crew played with Peter as the "weak scholar"

The more I come across of Deng Ke productions, the more I like his style. Of course I don't know him as a person. But I like his vision. This drama gave me that validation. I'm rather happy about it. 🙂
