" It basically sends up hidden messages where it undermines the people who fought for democracy and died in 1987"…
The only message of Snowdrop until episode 12 is that both NK and (military regime) SK leaders, plus the ANSP who serve the latter, are corrupt, greedy and ruthless, always ready to kill, torture or frame innocents as well as their own devoted agents, for money, power, or even petty rivalries.
I don't see how this undermines the democracy movement...

no.3 they did know, or at least suspect it, but they hoped that because it was such a big scoop with evidence…
yeah they hoped that the news directors will find the material before the resident ANSP moles, and the sensation (and ratings) they could create with it will beat the fear of retaliation

about #3: the opposition probably can't help much without the media either, and if there are any newspapers, radio or TV channels that are on their side, the ANSP must keep an even closer eye on those...

Plot twist : Young Ro is the north korean spy 😒
she is the only one who is not suspicious, and that makes her the likely suspect

Guess you @ the wrong person, I'm not the one going on about the hidden intents of the writer.

There are plenty of folks throughout the internet that have pointed out specific scenes and elements of the plot…
Everyone is free to leave a comment here. Everyone is also free to challenge other commenters' arguments.
"it is known this drama distorts history a million times and has an eeeevil message, look it up online" sounds suspiciously like there are no actual facts to support the argument, but whatever. After all, you are free to have an opinion based on lies rather than proof.

Once again, a bunch of accusations without actually showing any evidence to prove them.
Can you at least tell what message the show is trying to send?

Anything is possible, but the old man would fit the role better. He can open any locks, he can go to any part of the dorm pretending to fix things, he can repair any electronics, and he could easily hide a transmitter device in a few pieces among his other junk.
Students like Hyeryeong or even the head girl have more limited options to be useful as spies.

I wonder what, actually, is so important about the dorm that both countries station agents there...

I'm very sorry that your aunt went through traumatic events! I hope she is able to live a happy life after the sacrifices she and fellow protesters made.

But I still think the correct way is to deduce the writer's intent from the actual content, rather than assume it based on preconceptions which might or might not be true.

The chief dude who has bad taste in clothes said "her" so the mole is female. Probably not the cook tho.
Koreans have no gendered pronouns, so using her or him is only a choice made by the translator.

Dragging the personal life of the writer into it, making assumptions on her politics based on her husband's job,…
I'm truly sorry if the mere existence of a drama is triggering to real members of bereaved families. But I can't support censorship without actual, factual arguments of why this piece of fiction is harmful.

And I'm saying "pretending to be righteous" because those against the drama did not stop at boycotting it, its sponsors, or the network. They spread lies, abused the justice system, and harassed and threatened everyone involved in the production. A fight stops to be just if its champions stoop too low.

Just one question: are you aware that the victims' families are also not without political preferences? Maybe they also have some agenda... The first petition against the drama was heavily promoted by the supporters of a certain party.

Kangmoo assembles the chicken radio, but before he can turn it on, there is a sound from Ms Pi's. So he puts down the chicken radio, pulls out Ms Pi's from his pocket and starts talking to the ANSP with that one.
It is deliberately filmed to be confusing :)

The radio that is connected to the ANSP was not the one from the chicken, it was Ms Pi's. Kangmoo took from Boonok in the last episode and carried it with him since then.
Chicken radio must be connected to NK, but whether it really belongs to the kitchen lady or someone else? I'm still not convinced...

The SK mole was Ms Pi. The NK one is assumed to be the kitchen lady, but I feel they were wrong about it, she might be just a severely traumatized person with NK origins... in that state, she would apologize for anything. The actual mole might be the still old man?

Dragging the personal life of the writer into it, making assumptions on her politics based on her husband's job, use those assumptions to prove that the drama is right wing propaganda, regardless of the actual contents?
This is a nice illustration of what the side that pretends to be righteous has been doing.

I rarely felt drag or boring while watching this drama. I don't know why people feel it so much drag. 🤷🏼‍♂️Maybe…
The wives storyline is going nowhere, but other than that, I don't feel it dragging. But then, I watched Sky Castle so was braced for an ensemble drama with not very prominent romance - the loveline is important and influences everything that Suho does, but it was never going to be full of lovey-dovey scenes.
