Aside from Yang zi, there are other actresses who can pull this through. I know you are a bias fan of Song Zuer, so it must HURT you. 🙂🙂🙂 in the first few eps, she is doing well but lately, she is showing the same exact expression.

Still, her duck face, pouty lips, tilted head in emotionally-drive scene bothers me. You are the first one who said that she will play the role much better. Then now that I agree you call me BIAS. You are funny. If i remember correctly, you always reply to my comment. I see you now as a trap 🤣🤣🤣 , If you care to read my comment then you should fully grasp what I am talking about. It is my opinion about my drama and if you don’t agree, then idc. You don’t need to pull that it hit 30k index to me,

Yang Zi would definitely nailed this character with her brilliant micro expressions and role portrayal. She always fascinates me with her depth acting and raw layer of emotions. That is why Flourished Peony is brilliant.

Like I said the entertainment value is there. An excellent drama is the one that balances and connects the different aspects like love, politics and not outweighs or focuses in one aspect. It should be multi-faceted and not one dimensional. Anyway, I said still considered it a feel good watch drama. The first 10 eps is solid for me before it starts to crumble.

The rise of ning is actually way better than are you the one.

Honestly, the latter eps diminished the intriguing political angst and magnificence of the first few eps. Now, it focuses on trivial matters, the comedy relief, love cliche, the household wei chaos. And I agree with the female’s lead lacking of microexpression. She always display the duck face, shocked, tilted head in every important scene. The plot became shallow and stalled. I still consider it as one of the good dramas of 2025 like I said for its entertainment value but not the BEST.

The story is becoming monotonous and somehow loses its spark. In these 2 eps, it highlighted the petty quarrels of the leads. Though, I enjoy the comedic timings and witty banters, I already miss the strong foot hold of the early 5 eps with the heroic scenes, battle invasions, political mind games, unpredictable twist of events etc.

The annoyance era began with the introduction of these new characters. Ep 1-10 are solid for a romantic historical drama but ep 11 and teasers of 12-13 don’t seem promising. I hope the plot does not go downhill from here. I kind of miss the epic battle, strategic conquering of land, anticlimactic scenes & mind playing games of the leads…

It’s more on idol romance historical drama as the story progresses.

I think for those who are looking for politically-charged and highly-revenge driven historical drama with complexities, intrigues, morally gray characters, unpredicatable plot twist, this will impose a kind of disappointment for them. If this genre is your prior expectation as seen in the drama tags. As we all know where the story is going now, I understand the commentator below in which she has raised some valid insights or her dilemna about the drama. But I guess what makes TPOB gravitating and appealing to the mass is because of the emotional tug of “love begets all”. Amplified by the execution of valor, unforgettable cliche and overly dramatic fluffy scenes 🤣 I guess, hopeless romantic like me will be fooled. Haha! Anyway, I still enjoy this for its entertainment value.

This is more of an idol historical romance type of genre.

I love how the drama bewitched us all at this point. However, it kind of bothers me that the plot progresses and noticeably becomes more predictable. Like it peaked too early because of how good and tight the previous eps but if you will delve more, basically you can already read the minds and foresee the actions of the characters.

Only two dramas that got me hooked this 2025. THIS and Flourished Peony 🌸

Oh, only few I like this year. Aside from The Glory, I only love Flourished Peony and Love of the Divine Tree for this year. I haven’t finished Blossoming love, it’s on hold. I am currently watching A moment but forever as well. Thank you for the recom anyway! 🥰

What are the masterpiece of 2025?

It’s not a 9 with those flawed characters and story-telling. 8.5 is the highest for this show. A great start then it crumbles.

The comment section has some folks went crazy like the drama itself. I feel like I am watching a soap opera instead of a drama. Anyway, these fans are in defensive mode and are criticizing some commentators here who made feedback that do not sit well with them. Each drama does has flaws and it can be discussed. Personally, this is a good drama compared to other drama that are released this year. It just that it was unable to keep the momentum all throughout. It doesn’t need to focus on romance because the main recipe like all of us know by now is vengeance. However, this drama just like in real life, people wanting to be great, forget how to be good along the way. Like this drama is highlighted seeking revenge and justice hence, it failed miserably to deliver the full essence of the theme. The latter half of the drama is weak. Only few eps left and still.. barely the same..
