She's not acting hard to get for the sake of it, she has a very valid reason to do so! She's rejecting him because…
When I said she has more on her plate, I was talking of current events. She's plotting to kill an imperial Prince, that's an act of high treason. I don’t anything compares to that currently.

No, I don’t agree.
As you said, she used him once to avenge her brothers, but that fell within the scope of his responsibilities as an army general.
Attempting to kill Prince Sui is something else altogether! This could bring his whole clan down! You honestly cannot compare the 2 situations
As for inequality, I'd rather talk about timing. ML had more time and more leverage to accept the FL's real identity. The FL doesn't have this luxury. She's hell bent on her revenge and spent the last few months only focusing on that, whereas the ML had time to strengthen his resolve to be with her.
Also, being with him will have more consequences and for the FL, than for the ML, so it's normal that she's less inclined to start over.
Actors in Chinese dramas are looking younger and younger as viewers are getting younger . I also miss mature men…
It's not really a fine, more like the actor needs to bear the cost of dubbing (so basically having to pay for the dubber fees). I wouldn't be surprised if they managed to find a way for the production house to pay for this😂
Honestly, I don’t feel strongly about dubbing as long as it's not too jarring. I am sympathetic to the cast and crew's working conditions and background which sometimes force them to be dubbed. For example, actors film costume dramas in Hengdian most of the time - it's so noisy there that they have no choice but to go to the studio later to dub the whole footage; there are also actors like Dylan Wang with very strong regional accents for whom it's difficult to speak "standard Mandarin" (I understand their predicament as I 've spent YEARS trying to get rid of an accent for work purposes, but it just never worked lol)
I think it was mentioned in the early episodes that her paternal family are fallen officials/nobles. They were…
I am pretty sure he it's been mentioned her father has been executed or exiled. As for her mom, she passed away.
That's why the ML intended to send her to Beizhou (where her maternal family resides) when he intended to divorce her before going to war. I understood from then on that her only living (and caring) relatives were her mother's family

Yes, I guess she didn’t dub herself for this drama either due to time constraints (she started filming Hidden Shadows soon after wrapping up Are You The One), or maybe because she has a regional accent/hasn't yet mastered costume dramas dubbing.
Most often than not, you'll see people complain when actors don’t do their own dubbing, but they don't realize that it may be the producers/director who prefers for the actors not to dub themselves, or that the actors don't have time to dub the whole drama.
Also, dubbing is quite hard and some actors require some time to get used to the process. But since time is money, producers will prefer hiring someone else to do it asap
FL is from a (quite liberal) merchant family on her mother's side. Thanks to this, she's business-savvy and quite…
Love reading about your thoughts on the drama!
I also love the leads' relationship, which I feel has been well developed throughout the show. The ML's love shouldn't be questioned by anyone at this point

Thanks! I've been surprised to see all these negative comments these past few days. Honestly, I did the director did a good job to make the backstories and characters' motives pretty clear. I actually enjoy this drama because they didn't unecessarily overcomplicate the plot
Very good actor! His performance in Are You The One proves he's an allrounder... He's so good at both angst and comedy, but also in action scenes... He's sure got a bright future ahead!

Yup, I watched it and I liked it! I agree that it's important for both characters to be equally in love (I have dropped shows when there was too much imbalance in FL's favor), but I don’t feel that way for this drama. FL is justified and ML is not a simp. He's making amends for his mistakes and embracing his inner child (he could never act immature due to his upbringing and difficult home life before)

Nah I don’t agree for this particular drama. I would agree that for a lot other cdramas,, but not this one.
Here, both ML and FL are equally in love. It's just that the FL has more on her plate than the ML, that's why she cannot get with him now. Remember that she saw all of her friends being slaughtered in front of her! She told Ziyu that she would definitely seek revenge on Prince Sui, so it's not just speculation on my part. Even in today's episode, she told the ML that they can't be together because of different life purposes. It's really obvious she loves him and that's why she keeps entertaining him and spends time with him even if she doesn't need to.
Once again, I get your point and I agree it applies to lots of kdramas and cdramas where the relationship is imbalanced with the ML being a simp, but in this drama, it's different because the characters' reasnonings make sense

She's planning to kill an imperial prince. Of course she wouldn't want the ML to get involved. This is high treason and would leave to the worst sentencing you could think of! I think that's a valid reason unlike what I have seen in other dramas. Also, I feel like her reactions to the ML have been proportionate till now.
We saw plenty of her love when she decided to follow him to the battlefield, when she decided to support him financially as she thought he was a useless bum, etc. Even though she had lost her memories at this time, those feelings were real and she still harbors them.

I didn't read the novel either :😜
Honestly, do we need to know how/why she became Lu Wen? She escaped from her wedding and joined Ziyu (she knows him through her uncle who was his bodyguard at some point). She used her business acumen to provide financial resources to Ziyu. Since Ziyu had to live in hiding and quickly accumulate henchmen, money and weapons, he had to resort to illegal activities (which Lu Wen basically managed on his behalf).
FL is not selfless. She didn't do all of this because she wanted to be a hero. She yearned to be emancipated, and wanted to support the man she thought she loved. I honestly think she was having fun and found the life purpose she was missing till now.
I got all of this from the drama and that's enough background for me.
As for the ML, I think he fell for her because she's the only person who ever loved and supported him selflessly. She also gave him a taste of what domestic happinness could look like.

She learned martial arts from her mother/maternal family. It was mentioned in the drama.
She didn't work in the bodyguard/escort business from my understanding before she joined Mount Yang. I guess she knew about the family business though and received business training.
As for why she left Mount Yang, she thought Ziyu and Yun'er were having an affair even though she and Ziyu were romantically involved. She also mentioned that there were some ideological conflicts between her and Ziyu with regards to Prince Sui, hence why she left so easily.
Also, don't forget what she told Yun'er when they met in the cave. Ziyu was aware that she had hidden part of the money (and she gave it back to him when she regained her memories).
Seriously I hate The idea of ml getting rejected by the FL multiple times while he gradually becoming love simp…

She's rejecting him because she still intends to kill Prince Sui and doesn't want the ML to be involved. As the gang leader, she witnessed her "brothers" getting killed, so she has to avenge them as per the moral code of their times!
