Just saw the trailers, in ep 30 it's all lighthearted and they all think he's there for Zhi but we all know who he wants 🤣
Then in ep 31, things get real. Marrying into the royal family will in no way guarantee freedom. Plus with the way the emperor safeguards Yanxi, when he finds out he's in love with someone it won't be good for them. I just hope they both get the freedom they desire and deserve

I guess you can say that, but the problem is he doesn't mean to do him a favor and just pretty much abandones him

It's more lighthearted, we haven't really experienced real angst yet. Unless maybe on two occasions but you'll find yourself smiling a lot

I was genuinely caught off guard when the emperor swung the knife at the little boy. Like he is your son!! I really thought he wanted to kill him, then the look he gave Yanxi, it's like a foreshadowing of what their relationship might end up as. I'm convinced that he'd rather have Yanxi dead than out of his control. He actually scarred his sixth son to disqualify him in the fight for the throne because he is too 'weak' (even after saving his life!), but killed his second son for being too "ruthless" in order to get the throne. I hope Yanxi isn't too comfortable in his position with the emperor because he could very well be next. I felt bad for prince Xian, story as old as time, we've seen countless sons resort to this for the very same reason like in NIF (another useless emperor) . I just know sad days are ahead of us. Hopefully they won't last too long
