Mmm.. I thought divorce was not an option in ancient times or didnt exist.... why get a concubine when u can just…
It was an option but only the men could divorce the women, not the other way around, that's why her family reacted that way when she mentioned it. It really was a horrible time for women, women were just ornaments for status and to give birth to sons. Just look the empress dowager couldn't even properly write to her friend without being suspected 😔
You mean Kong Liu or the screenwriter?Actually it reminds me of the concept of "karma" in Buddhism. Karma means…
I thought so after seeing the trailer because our man came through 😠she was so miserable that even in death she wouldn't let her family go and had no sense of guilt for everything she did
I am confused why would her husband’s brother and his wife be raising her son? I thought she was a concubine?
I'm also not sure whose concubine she is. But I wouldn't put it past them if they could share the concubines. But that doesn't make sense because they could have gotten their own concubine. Perharps she's the concubine of the second uncle but was brought in by the third aunt?
ep 18 done still far far away from having a relation, appearantly its a good lighthearted drama but there are…
Why did we only get one ep today? 😠Hua Jing's son I'm sure is the complete opposite of the second daughter's son. I think he'll agree to the divorce, but since he's his father's son, I don't know how they'll get him away from that house after the divorce. Both boys inherited their mother's personalities; one is viscious and evil while the other is soft and kind. I'm just worried that something is coming to burst our leads' bubbles ðŸ˜

Even though they're sometimes pretentious. I guess it's the reality of every family but at least they're not after each other's lives like most dramas I've watched. It's a refreshing change to see such a happy family with normal conflicts

The concubine is definitely pitiful, I think it's because he took advantage of her broken heart, and maybe because he showed her kindness she drunk alone with him but since it was drugged, she couldn't get away. It was very hard watching that scene The eldest daughter is really hateful
I haven't binged a show in so long. Now my eyes are red at 2 in the morning. Can I just start by saying that Hua Jing and that husband of hers do not deserve to live another day. I cannot believe she wanted to deal with her niece in such a viscious way, and even after causing that concubine Qin to be taken advantage of she acted as though everyone else was despicable except herself. I honestly wanted to Hua zhi to slap her when she was speaking to her grandma like that . They shouldn't have let her talk for too long but I understand the whole hierachy thing. The grandma's death broke me for many reasons; I thought of her husband who is away in the north but it especially made me sympathise with the women of that time who had close relations but had to separate after marriage. And Shaoyao crying was just too sad. The royal family is as rotten as always but there's still somethings I don't understand. I'm just glad Yanxi and Zhi were able to clear the air and even move forward in their relationship. I'm rooting for them so hard. But I do feel bad for Shen Qi, his family is also another problem and he doesn't fit in. I can't wait for the other eps, I think this is my favorite drama of the year so far. It deserves a much higher rating

And I like their family dynamics so far, at first I thought the third aunt would be one of those bitter miserable women but the family relationship is actually healthy, something more historical dramas need
I'm on ep 6, and loving this so far. What ep do the two leads start having a relationship? And I just noticed that poster is actually so funny, poor Sehn Qi
they are couple and have a child. Hyun tae is ML's brother
I'm not sure what gave you the impression apart from what the father said, but even if you check the cast list on this page, it says she's his older sister
The eldest daughter is really hateful
