I haven't watched today's episodes yet but I think the killing of Amai's family also has to do with the princess. After she helps Yizhi, she might fall out with him because she found out the truth, or their paths won't be the same anymore.
But I agree CYQ's character deserved so much better in this show and honestly so does Amai
