The show definitely isn't for everyone and the two things you listed are some of the reasons why some people don't enjoy it. If you don't like it, it's totally ok to stop watching and find another drama you enjoy!

I will be interested to see what Tencent does with BOP in terms of when they release it. It definitely makes sense to release it sooner rather than later to capitalize on everything.

I'm sure HY has plenty of offers for other projects after DM while it sounds like MZY is the most likely candidate for a drama with WHD, so schedule alignment will be interesting to really get all the promo they can out of it.

Based on how it seems like HY and MZY already have done variety shows for BOP after filming wrapped (and it looks like BOP is Tencent), I would guess there would be a lot of promo for that one, especially now with HY's stocks being up so much as long as the release doesn't overlap with his current drama he's filming.

I think with YSX's next dramas also being IQIYI, that will be interesting to see how the promo is handled.

I will forever be low key annoyed all we got were lives in terms of real time promo with the cast.

I did lowkey think it was funny they wrapped up his entire storyline in one episode via a flashback within a flashback and he was never mentioned again after everything in the first half.

If IQIYI wants to do some more official promo content/release those wedding scenes to launch it more officially overseas, I'm not going to complain 🤣

While SAL didn't seem to be a "hit" in terms of the metrics they seem to like to use in China, I thought from the beginning it had everything to make it an international hit and I think HY's follower count definitely reflects that.

That looks crazy. I saw a video where it looked like he had like 4 bodyguards and some other people around him. Hopefully he protects his privacy and mental health from having to deal with all this. I've seen other traffic stars talk about the toll this sort of behavior can have when it starts getting too invasive.

It will be a shame he may not be able to ride his motorcycle as much anymore. I remember seeing clips where he would ride it to/from set, but with those sort of crowds, that seems dangerous to leave you and your stuff that exposed.

Zhang Yun Long (Love in the Pavillion) was rumored to be the male lead and was spotted at the first script reading, so that is who it most likely is. It's odd that filming is supposed to start soon yet there have been no updates to the cast.

I'm so sorry that happened to you. Reading reviews like yours I'm in awe with how much care and thought you put into your review. You can really tell it meant a lot to you. At the end of the day, dramas are here to entertain us, so it's sad that someone's enjoyment of a drama illicits someone else to go out of their way and personally spread negativity.

I’m not sure if this was ever discussed, but was the engagement ring supposed to be a moonstone? That was my first thought and if so, that’s a super cute nod to Mu Mu.

Glad it looks like he now has more bodyguards to help out. I feel bad for the people who gain sudden popularity and have to change how they go about their day because people can't be normal in public.

There's a decent number of us who still haven't been able to move on, so you're welcome to come in here to talk about the show. There's a lot of us who are still working through the recovery process and it's been fun to look back and discuss the show with other people who were also hit hard by all the feels from the show.

I guess it depends on what you consider campy. I would say it gets a lot more emotional around episode 19, but some might still find it campy after that. Overall, the series is Wattpad coded and the cringe is part of the charm of the drama.

I would be really interested if YSX starts to step more in the producer role. It definitely feels like in her past projects, she has a lot of ideas when it comes to what sort of things will appeal to the audience and how to tell the story. I've seen quite a few of her co-stars also mention how she has a lot of ideas and SAL in particular has shown she can do a pretty good job at promotional content.

To be fair, I'm not sure if this was ever going to be in the show considering that looks like their EP1 outfits haha. I can see this as them messing around and YSX wanting to try to "ride" the bike even though it would have been cool to see in the show.
