It's excellent. Really good chemistry between all the main leads, the action scenes are great, the comedy is on point, and the cases are interesting. Plus it features two incredibly kickass women. Give it a try.

A huge number of MDL users are brain-dead. Meaning their brain switches off if it isn't the usual rom-com starring some overrated idol. Absolutely ignore MDL ratings, or you will miss some of the best dramas out there. So far, this one is excellent.

Okay, now watched all available episodes and this is one of my faves of the year so far. The acting is superb, although I expect that from the likes of Song Kang Ho and the rest of the main cast, and the plot is truly interesting.
I'm just still so annoyed it ended up on Disney as Netflix would have made this one a big hit. Disney licenses K-drama (does the same with anime) and then hardly markets them. You see it all over their social media -- garbage American shows getting post after post, and hardly any mention of an anime or a K-drama. Really wish Korean and Japanese production companies would stop selling their rights to Disney.

Ratings will probably rise. You always get the "hate raters" to start with, who sometimes also hang around to trash it in the comments for a couple of weeks (don't understand that -- move on to a drama you do like).
People who watch a drama all the way through also often wait to leave a rating until the end. And again, it's MDL, where people usually give lower ratings than almost anywhere else :)

That article is over 24 hours out of date. It shot back up in the ratings last night -- an almost 2.0 percent ratings jump, and was #1 most-watched show on cable.

Very good. Recommend it as it's a more realistic romance drama, IMO, than a lot of what we get out of S. Korea. Love the main leads too.

Absolutely true. Sometimes I find myself rewinding two or three times to figure out what's going on, as I don't know much about Korean politics and worry something I missed might be necessary for the plot, but the scenarios in this are very well explained by the writer.

Me too! And it's crazy because all these companies complain about the pirate sites while doing everything they can to force consumers to pirate sites :)

Like you, I pay for Viki (then use VPN most of the time, as about 30% of the dramas I want to watch aren't available in Austria), and Netflix (still annoying, like you said, as dramas sometimes arrive later in Austria although we DO have The Atypical Family).

I also stopped paying for Crunchyroll as 40% of the anime I want to watch isn't available in Austria, AND they recently announced they will be using AI for subs. That means, they'll be firing actual human translators who spent years studying so they could translate correctly, for AI translation that is incorrect 50% of the time. At this point, Crunchyroll is the last company I would ever pay for. They've also just increased their prices -- massively, in some parts of the world -- yet still offer sub-standard service.

I also pay for HIDIVE when I'm in the U.S. (it's no longer available in Europe), watch anime on Netflix and pirate the rest. (And yep, Disney is the last company I would pay for -- they're abysmal with anime/Kdramas, to the point that they buy the exclusive license, it's never available to half the world, they don't promote it, and the anime/K-drama just goes there to die).

And btw, as an American living overseas, it pisses me off when other Americans complain about people "stealing money from anime/K-drama companies by pirating".

He's another idol, which is why all his shows get rated high because of obsessive fans who will rate anything he's in high as long as he doesn't fall over. I've heard he's brilliant in The King's Affection though, and he wasn't bad in She Will Never Know, but I didn't particularly care for him in Destined with You either.

With a different actor, I probably would have stuck with it, but with both Rowoon and Jo Bo Ah, it was a definite No for me. :)

Anyway, not going to continue ragging on Jo Bo Ah -- she and her dramas are just not for me (disappointed she's in Hong Rang tho, as that's a definite watch for me with both Lee Jae Wook and Kim Jae Wook. Will just have to fast-forward thru her scenes :)

Do hope Kim Shi Eun gets the female lead in this though, as what I've seen of her so far, she has superb acting skills.

It will make it an easy Not Watch if Jo Bo Ah ends up starring in it. She is the only Korean actress I cannot stand (terrible acting skills, the weak link in everything she stars in), and the only reason I dropped Destined with You, as I couldn't watch another 8 episodes of her awful acting.

But they're still released at different times. I'm in Austria and, much of the time, what's available in the U.S. isn't available here, or available weeks later. It's the same on streaming services like Crunchyroll for anime (we only get about 60% of what the U.S. gets, the rest we never get), on Viki (far less than in the U.S. - ), and even on Netflix.
All these streaming services pay for licenses in different areas, and sometimes they don't bother paying for them for smaller countries. Even here in Europe. It's annoying, but the pirate websites definitely make their money :)
And what's even more annoying, btw, is a lot of the time we pay the same/similar subscription fee, but only get access to 60 percent or less of what an American would get access to.

Even in America apparently (I'm American but don't live there right now), they release dramas slower than in other places. Asia gets some of them faster, while American audiences sometimes have to wait a month. None of the way they do it makes any sense, and don't get me started on how terrible they are at promoting them. Worse than Netflix, and that's saying something :)

I'm about to lobby every Korean production company to stay away from Disney. :) They license dramas and then they're only available to 10 percent of the planet. I end up watching most Disney K-dramas on bootleg sites, as they're just not available in Europe. Or, if they are, they premiere weeks later.
