No offence, but these messages (same over and over again) remind me of someone not seen here for a couple of days. You…
ROTFL. Yes, you can. The only drawback is you can only block 100 people. I hit that threshold a LONG time ago. Now I have to keep unblocking people who are listed as "inactive" so I can block someone new - LOL.
And no, you're not ignorant, as MDL doesn't make it obvious how to do it :) Just click on their user name, then when that page loads, where it says 'Add Friend' click on the arrow next to it, and Block User comes up.
I generally block people who are just here to troll. I don't mind someone complaining about a drama I like, we all have our own taste, but when it's just comment after comment after comment by people who have obviously opened an account just to troll a drama or an actor (you can usually tell by the date their account was opened), I block as life's too short to waste brain cells on stupid :)
Maybe try something in a similar genre to the dramas youβve enjoyed before. Have you finished any drama recently?…
Well you have pretty much dropped every drama you've ever watched, so it seems like Asian dramas probably aren't your thing. Maybe go to Netflix and watch some typical American/European shows.
Wasn't it 40 episode? When did it turn into 38? Again our beloved censor board did their magic ππππ
It has NEVER been 40 episodes (why do people keep asking this? It's been explained in the comments about 9,000 times) MDL made a mistake when they listed it as 40, Every Chinese source for the last year that I've been tracking it has listed it at 38 episodes. Don't worry, it's not censored, and you're not missing anything :)
No offence, but these messages (same over and over again) remind me of someone not seen here for a couple of days. You…
Just block them and move on. Apparently they're so stupid, they opened 2 accounts with Rajput as part of the user name just so they can complain TWICE. In English that doesn't even really make any sense either :)
Nirvana in Fire dude the best of them all re watch so many times already
Sadly, I'm a completionist. So once I start something, my brain won't let me stop until I've finished (or unless I hate it so much I drop it). So... 104 episodes here I come some time soon - ROTFL.
I have only ever rewatched 4 Chinese dramas -- Who Rules the World, A Dream Within a Dream, The King's Avatar (I'm a gamer), and Guardians of Dafeng (and half of The Untamed twice, as I stopped midway thru and, a year later, couldn't remember what had happened :) But I will definitely be giving this one a rewatch.
It has so much potential for a satisfying second or even a third time through, as the politics and constant backstabbing are wonderfully written,( and fascinating to figure out the history behind why one faction/person is going after another), the fight scenes/wire work are masterfully choreographed and performed, and the characters and the acting are fabulous.
It's been an easy 10/10 for me since about Episode 3, and my mind hasn't changed on that at all now up to and including Episode 22. A superb drama in every respect.
It looks like the episodes have been reduced to 38. Such a shame, I would've loved to enjoy everything as is instead…
It actually hasn't been cut. The 40 episodes is an MDL mistake, as every Chinese site I've used to write about Blood River (for several months) has always listed the drama at 38 episodes. Don't worry. You're not going to miss anything :)
It's only MDL that has ever listed it at 40 episodes. Every Chinese site I read has always listed it at 38 episodes, so it hasn't been cut. Just an MDL mistake :)
It's standalone. You won't know who some of the returning characters are, or their relevance, but it's not that…
Zhe Xu Qi, Xi Zhen Qing, Qiu Xiao Zhen -- hahahaha, Yep, like you, it's a struggle for me :) I think so many of the sounds just sound similar to my brain.
Although I also struggled with Thai names when I lived in Thailand, because their last names are crazy long -- Charunee Jaturapattarapong -- what the hell :) My Thai friends used to howl laughing at me trying to pronounce their names. Luckily, Thais at least all go by their nicknames - Benz, Mu, Mouse etc -- so I never had to remember their actual given names :)
I WAS very proud of myself tho for memorizing the Thai name for Bangkok -- Krungthepmahanakhon Amonrattanakosin Mahintharayuthaya Mahadilokphop Noppharatratchathaniburirom Udomratchaniwetmahasathan Amonpiman-Awatansathit Sakkathattiyawitsanukamprasit -- and I can pronounce it correctly too. ROTFL
Chinese on the other hand, I think I'm a lost cause. Sounds like you might be too :) Back to rewinding scenes in dramas then :)
It's standalone. You won't know who some of the returning characters are, or their relevance, but it's not that…
It can be a bit complicated with the political intrigue, and I'm terrible at remembering Chinese names, so have to keep rewinding to figure out who is who (you'd think I'd be good at this as I lived in Asia for 15 years but... I hear "Wang JIng Dong" -- and my brain just goes blank -- hahahaha.)
If you're better at remembering names than I am, you might fare better. Good luck. I think you'll like it.
Guys, tell me.. should I start with watching Dashing Youth or can I see this as a stand-alone for now?
It's standalone. You won't know who some of the returning characters are, or their relevance, but it's not that important. And you will have to rewind some scenes to understand what's going on.
Then again, I watched Dashing Youth and The Blood of Youth, and I'm still the queen of rewinding :) In other words, go for it, it's very good.
Gotta say I'm getting a bit tired of the guys deserving death not actually getting death.
It's a failing of a lot of Cdramas. Trying to stick to some weirdly innocent moral arc, again and again and again. Getting a bit old at this point (midway thru Ep 21).
Don't get me wrong, still loving this. But... the Chinese really need to start absoluting annihilating their bad guys a bit more often :) God knows, most of their historical figures were ruthless.
With all your negative feedback bout this drama you still following updates along? You even rated 1 and reviewed…
I know right. It's so bizarre. If I hate something, I might leave one comment (I like to balance out the positive with the negative :), and then move on. Ye Gods, like many of us, I have 9,785 more dramas still to watch. Why waste time negatively obsessing over something you hate when you could be watching something you love?
Dark River, by the way, is still ticking all my boxes -- look forward to every episode as, what it promised when it started, it is still massively fulfilling.
November 1st -- iQIYI has just dropped 2 posters, and the plot sounds like it will be really suspenseful. Just what I love. Really looking forward to this one. Cool main cast too.
liu xue yi, i like you a lot but not enough to torture myself watching this. please avoid these kinds of scripts…
Yep. I'm at the point where any drama featuring Meng Zi Yi will be an immediate avoid. The woman cannot act - same facial expression in every scene. Even when she's about to die π. Horrible actress.

Thanks for the clarification tho :)
Will def be getting to it this year though. I've had so many people tell me it's their favorite C-drama of all time. Thanks for the reminder :)
But I will definitely be giving this one a rewatch.
