Drama doesn't offer much different than we've seen a thousand times already. That's one thing. It's the same plot line -- couple, one of whom has a traumatic past, fall in love while fighting against evil, then get separated then, (hopefully)reunite then (hopefully) happy ending.
It's a formula even the Chinese are getting sick of, Especially as it's dragged out for 34 episodes, when mini dramas are now the most popular things in China
Don't get me wrong. I am thoroughly enjoying When Destiny Brings the Demon -- FL and ML are brilliant, the cinematography is gorgeous, the CGI is excellent, and the music is lovely. Decent directing too. But I can see it's faults and why a substantial number of people would be exhausted with dramas like this.
Viki is currently commenting it will be available in the U.S. in "727 days". Nah. thanks all the same…
Oh no worries. While I prefer to watch legally if possible as it helps support the actors/director etc, I've no problem bootlegging if needs must. Been doing it for 20-plus years.
As they say, sailing the high seas is sometimes necessary :)

It's annoying as eff too isn't it, as I pay for WeTV and presumed it would be on there.
But, no, just like the iQIYI I pay for didn't have A Dream Within a Dream in the U.S., nor did it have a couple of other dramas that dropped on that platform the same month, WeTV refuses to license Moonlit Reunion for Americans.
Although the lack of Moonlit Reunion is probably Linmon Entertainment's fault, who really are shite with international licensing,
At this point, I'll be bootlegging Moonlit Reunion on principle when I have time to watch it, as I'm sick to death of paying for THREE Chinese streaming platforms, and occasionally a Chinese YouTube channel, plus Netflix, and ALL of them are a pain in the ass when it comes to licensing Chinese dramas for Americans and Europeans. :)
I'm thinking people must not be in to supernatural or SciFi stuff. Either that or XK has a lot of anti fans. That…
No, unfortunately, it's leveled at just about every actor. Chinese, Korean or otherwise. And by both Chinese drama "fans" and international "fans".
There are thousands of trolls on MDL who downrate dramas without even watching them just because an actor they "hate" is in them.
Personally, I cannot deal with Meng Zi Yi and, after her appalling performance in The Princess's Gambit, I plan on avoiding all her dramas from now on. But... I'm sure as hell not going to downrate dramas she's in that I haven't even watched. I actually HAVE a life. Unlike some of the trolls on here it seems.
Unfortunately, the plot on this isn't moving forward much. Started out incredibly well but the last two episodes have just stagnated.
FL and ML are excellent, cinematography is beautiful, the soundtrack is lovely, but hopefully the writing will improve as I found the last two episodes to be quite dull. Fingers crossed, eh? :)
Fl looks old n like a plastic face. The most common faces in China. Too hard to watch her next to handsome he…
She cannot act. Has the same look on her face in every scene, in every photo shoot she does, in every promo poster. Cares more about "looking pretty" than actually acting. So bad, I now look at a cast list and if her name shows up in it it's a drama I won't be watching.
Wish Chinese companies would stop casting her as she's ruined so many dramas.
There is no season 2 for this drama. It pretty much ended in this one. There is a few extra chapters on the novel…
You are quoting a garbage website -- The Sports Grail -- which publishes literal garbage articles, none of which are based in fact. There has NEVER been a Season 2 confirmed or talked about, as the story ended with Season 1.
Those types of websites are just trolling for views by lying about possible new seasons of dramas so that gullible viewers will click on their articles.
I had to drop this show and don't get me wrong. I was really enjoying the show, but I hate the miscommunication…
Yep. And, if you actually believed what you see in Chinese dramas, you would think the Chinese are the world's stupidest people with ZERO ability to communicate.
Coz of drama. Mdl loves drama + a immensely famous actress involved. Why not?? Look at the no. of comments on…
B.s. The alleged abuse she has received from her agency is horrendous, if true. So it's currently one of the biggest stories in China. Of course, a platform about Asian dramas would cover it. Especially as she's one of China's most-famous actresses.
Its cause the main producer is linmon not Tencent, so they're in charge of global distribution, their global distribution…
A Dream Within a Dream wasn't well distributed either. Not available in Europe on iQIYI, but only on Linmon's shitty YT channel -- that's when I canceled my iQIYI subscription :)

Linmon always has garbage distribution. It's one reason why I cancelled my iQIYI subscription last month, as 2 of the 3 dramas I'd been waiting for weren't available on iQIYI in Europe because they were Linmon produced, but were available on Linmon's shitty quality video quality YouTube channel for an additional fee. Nah. Sorry. Will bootleg first.
I hope Linmon get the day they deserve 😒 it’s ridiculous that this is on no streaming platforms except for…
Video quality is garbage on Linmon's YouTube channel too, I won't watch it there on principal so, sadly, will be bootlegging it. Crazy when I pay for WeTV (as well as Netflix, Hulu and YOUKU -- won't pay for iQIYI any more as they do the same thing and keep shoving their hit dramas on Linmon's YT channel due to Linmon producing -- nope. Sorry).

Bootlegging is your friend :)

And I'm NOT an Arthur Chen fan at all, but he's superb in this. Such a fun drama.
Wish Chinese companies would stop casting her as she's ruined so many dramas.
So. Nope. That blank facial expression in every bloody scene is something I cannot stand for one more freaking second.

Like you, I'm tired of it. It's lazy writing too.
