One of the best K-dramas of the current season. Performances are superb, the writing is incredible (requires thinking, so you may not like it if you hate to think!), and the cinematography is beautiful. One of the gems of 2024, IMO.
Yep see IMDb, Watchapedia, Kinolights, etc. MDL has a particular type
A sizable percentage of K-drama "fans" of all nationalities are incredibly immature. They'll literally wish a drama crashes and burns, thus helping destroy the livelihoods of the people starring in it/on the staff and crew, just because something "offends" them or their favorite actor wasn't cast in it.
My mantra for decades has been "You can't fix stupid people. Don't try or, like the pigs they are, they will cover you in the mud they wallow in". :)
Loved everything about this. Awesome veteran actors, nice performances, an adorable well-trained dog, a cute plot, and a really comfy, relaxing watch. Highly recommend for anyone who just wants something fun to watch.
I think you have to understand the Thais and Thailand to really enjoy this (lived there for 15 years, so it probably resonate a lot more with me than with others not so familiar with the country/people).
It's one of my favorite Thai films, as I've now just watched it for the 4th time :)
Which xianxia will IQIYI air first: Moonlight Mystique or A Moment but Forever?
Likely A Moment But Forever.
And btw, I'm currently watching the A Moment But Forever donghua (anime) on iQIYI -- it's absolutely GORGEOUS! Amazing character models, excellent animation, and the backgrounds are stunning.
Highly recommend if you don't want to wait for the drama. Or... if you just like superb 3D animation :)
There is a bit of misunderstanding about the drama genre.Maybe part of the audience has the wrong expectation?Really…
Thanks so much for your comments on my site. Yep, it's a heckuva lot of work :), but me and the two writers who currently work with me write about the things we enjoy, so that makes it a lot of fun too :)
I also own 4 other websites and am just kicking off a 5th one about Chinese donghua, so sleep is a problem :)
And yep, I think you're correct about the misunderstanding about the genre with this one.
Especially as some K-drama fans go into a drama expecting a typical romance plot, and then spend their time trashing it when it doesn't meet their expectations, instead of just moving on to something they do like. Sad really, as they waste portions of their very finite lives concentrating on negative things.
I hope and pray this flops (I am angry at the production company).
Wow, imagine the nastiness that takes for a person to wish every other actor in it, and the production crew and staff who rely on these jobs to feed their families, to be in a drama that "fails" because the cast list doesn't suit YOUR needs. Reflect on your awful personality.
Love this drama so much. Incredibly well-written as it looks at unhealthy relationships, and what people do in them to cope. Because, let's face it, a huge number of people in real life are in so-called "unhealthy relationships" (whatever that means) - although many people will not admit it to themselves.
Maybe that's why there's so much hate for this, as the people calling it "toxic" (a stupid, woke word that is massively overused in left-wing society and so has lost any meaning) are probably seeing themselves in the Dear Hyeri characters.
The whole point of the drama is that it's real, instead of the fake, shallow romance we see in so many Korean dramas, because life isn't usually fairy cakes and unicorns, unlike what so many K-drama fans would like to believe.
Never hated a character more :) I'm now shoving all her scenes into 3x speed just to get thru them.
It's such a shame as her character is brilliant in the donghua -- quirky but incredibly cool. Instead, the drama has turned her into a whining twerp with the Emotional Intelligence of a fruit fly. So bored with her, I could scream :)
Problem too is, even if we eventually get major character development (I'm watching Ep 21 so still have a waaaaaays to go), she's become a character I hate so much I won't even care :)
I have the impression that some people gave a lower rating because of the lack of subtitles. I know that this…
So many people are immature, and have temper tantrums over the stupidest things. They also have no thought for the actors, staff, director etc who put incredible amounts of time and work into a drama/film only to have some idiot downrate it because the subtitles weren't "perfect" or because one line spoken in it "offended" them.
My mantra in life has always been "You can't fix stupid. Just avoid it". :)

Thanks again for the nice comment!!

An easy 10/10 for me.
