Omg!! I was coming on here to make this very comment! What is the point of this character?! She acts like a twelve…
It's bizarre, because she's one of the coolest characters in the donghua, but in this she's so childish and annoying I also fast forward thru every scene she's in.
She does have a purpose as the drama continues, but the way the director/writer changed her character to become this stupid girl is so freaking stupid.
NOOOOOOOOOOO! My comfort series can't leave Netflix! GAH ! Where will it be in future? So annoying!!!!
On WeTV - subscription is only 50 bucks a year for all the Chinese dramas and donghua you can binge or, $5.99 a month if you can't afford a full year, or first 5 episodes free to watch :)
The main characters might be a little bit overpowered. They seem to easily win fights while outnumbered. Exceptionally…
He's the game's best player, so it doesn't matter what armor he's wearing, it's all about his skills. And if you've ever watched esports, you'll immediately see the top players are just LIGHT YEARS ahead of everyone else. Not "overpowered", just incredibly skilled.
I've played video games for over 25 years, and am quite fast in MMORPGs, and I couldn't even dare to compete against the best players in games like EverQuest or WoW. I'd be annihilated on the spot :)
While this isn't the best acted Chinese drama I've ever watched (main cast is good, but some of the supporting are massive over-actors), it's still a brilliant watch. Especially if you're a gamer, like I am.
Definitely different than the 3-series doghua and movie (which I loved), especially as Ye Qui's personality is kinder in that, (I am only on Ep 5 so things could change!), but loving this for completely different reasons.
If it continues in this vein throughout, it will be an easy 10/10 for me.
give this a try for second chance because of the time of fever, but once again, i give up on episode 1 lolreally…
Just came back to say the same thing as I am a huge fan of the webtoon, and of BL in particular, and so kept feeling like I should try it again. Dropped again at the same point, as Gong Chan's acting is incredibly poor. Ruined the whole thing for me. A pity as Cha Seo Won turned in a decent performance that was spoiled by who he was paired with.
Finish it. I was similar. Got to Episode 36 late last year and then had it on hold. Just finished it, and it was…
No, not joking at all. I have literally hundreds of Thai female friends, and not one of them has any interest in leaving Thailand. They are all doing incredibly well in their careers -- far better than many of my western friends, and living in a safer country than most people in the west, which has become quite unsafe in the last decade or so.
The same goes for the majority of Japanese, Koreans, Chinese, Vietnamese, Malaysian, Hongkongese, Singaporean women etc. If I could be Asian and born in one of a number of Asian countries, I'd switch in a second.
And sure, some do move to the west but that is a small minority compared to the billions of people who live in Asia.
And, as Asia is now motoring far ahead of the west in both the economy and its future prospects, my guess is fewer Asians will move to the west in the future. Too many opportunities in Asia nowadays and, in some cases, for much more money than the west compared to the cost of living.
Meanwhile, much of the west, in its present iteration, comprises countries in rapid decline.
For me, I've lived all over the world, am currently in the U.S. for a few months (couldn't pay me to live here again) then back to Austria, but I plan on moving back to Asia permanently within the next couple of years. There isn't an Asian country I've been to (and I've been to or lived in about 10) that doesn't beat every western country I've ever visited or lived in.
Sadly, though, I think so many westerners are lied to by their governments and the western "news" media, they believe most Asian countries are inferior. Nothing could be further from the truth.

I've been obsessed with Asian dramas for a couple of decades. I lived in Thailand for 14 years and, while Thai dramas are also fun, Korean dramas were huge in Thailand even back in the early 2000s, so I got into them then. Used to own a huge collection of them on DVD until I moved to Austria and left them behind. (Big mistake!) Have a Thai friend storing them for me, so need to get back to Bangkok at some point to pick them up :).
And yep, culture all over Asia is markedly different than what we're used to in the west. Took me a while to get used to Thai culture at first. Now I'm so comfortable with it, I prefer it to much of the west, which really is becoming a sh*tshow in so many countries nowadays.
And agree with you on the junk coming out of the U.S. - so much of it now is crammed full of the "woke" b.s. you just don't see on Asian TV. (Thank God!)
Can't remember the last time I watched an American show? 5 years or more probably, as they're just so annoying. Plus the horrible language. I swear occasionally, but effing this and effing that every other word is so unnecessary. (And don't get me started on British dramas (I'm British originally but lived in the U.S, for decades -- every character in British dramas seems incapable of putting a sentence together without f*ck making up half of it :)
As for how women are treated in Asia, in much of the more developed countries, while it may seem odd from a western point of view, women actually have quite a lot of power. Although it doesn't always seem like it at first.
Thailand, for instance, has more women in management than many western countries, and most make the same money men do.
If I was to be reincarnated (as a woman again), I would choose at least 15 Asian countries before I'd choose one in the west :) as I was treated so incredibly well anywhere I traveled in Asia.
As it stands now, I'm teaching myself both Chinese and Korean as my goal within the next couple of years is to move back to Asia, and this time permanently. And yes, it would be Thailand. I just can't stand the never-ending heat as I get older :)
Finish it. I was similar. Got to Episode 36 late last year and then had it on hold. Just finished it, and it was…
It's phenomenal, isn't it (beautifully written and filmed) and the leads are perfect? Watched 4 episodes last night, and will be settling down to watch another 4 or more tonight. And don't tell me about the end - LOL.
And, it looks like Chinese dramas (and donghua (anime)) are going to be my addiction for a while. Just signed up for WeTV (Tencent Video) VIP for only $49.99 for the entire year (an amazing deal) and, Ye Gods, they have a lot of stuff.
I'm annoyed lol I started this last July I think and binged 30 episodes of Netflix's 43-episode version, then…
Finish it. I was similar. Got to Episode 36 late last year and then had it on hold. Just finished it, and it was well worth the pay off, IMO. And I finished it by re-watching the last episode I had already watched -- filled in the blanks, and was able to finish the final 4 episodes without many questions.
Hamas is named as a terrorist organization in most developed countries, and many developing countries. When you have allowed yourself to be brain-washed by an actual terrorist organization that would kill you before they would waste 2 seconds talking to you, you are literally one of the stupidest people on the planet. Moving on. I have zero interest in communicating with a terrorist supporter.
Whereas it means a huge percentage of K-drama fans will avoid it, as they only tune in for the latest drama with…
ROTFL. (Man, the woke really do ruin everything, don't they? ) And sorry if I'm straight and like a drama with at least one good-looking man. Sue me :)
One of best acted dramas of the year. Also superbly written and incredibly moving. Enjoyed every episode. It has done remarkably well in Korea too, ending last night on its highest ever rating, and remarkably well for a Genie TV/ENA drama.
Happy for the actors, directors, writer and crew. They deserve all the accolades. Absolutely superb.
She does have a purpose as the drama continues, but the way the director/writer changed her character to become this stupid girl is so freaking stupid.
