Did he have any problems with the smoking for the film?
I of course don't know so this is just an educated guess, but as he didn't mention not smoking here in the interview, only drinking, and judging from his voice and the way it looked when he smoked in this drama? I would not be surprised if he actually was a casual smoker... but again, just my guess.
loved this review! agree that it is so refreshing to see some edge in the kdrama world: smoking, cursing, insane…
thanks =) and yes, good point, I agree, 10 episodes was perfect to tell the story without 3-5 filler episodes with non-content for the story like so often with 16 ep-dramas
MinJi23, is this worth me starting it over. I put it on hold after 2 eps.
LucyL, I really liked it still, there was a vibe in it that was really intriguing - plus I like Kim Go-eun, and I adore Nam Ji-hyun - so I just had to watch on ;)... But seriously, I think it's worth watching, I didn't lose interest or ff-ed, and visuals were really good in this too, but that last episode was such a bummer...maybe give it a second try and let me know what you thought about the ending =)
if you want to see Woo Do-hwan in good K-dramas I highly recommend 'the king-eternal monarch' - I think his very best role yet, and he was also quite good in 'save me' - which was actually the very first K-Drama I ever watched, that got me hooked and were he totally stood out to me
I agree with you about the romance scene, but for different reasons. I actually think the FM would not have been able to just do this the way her whole character was built before. So that is why I would have found it slightly unrealistic.
The fact the male officer got shot did make sense to me though. The relationship between Choic Mushin and the FL was complex, and there was some kind of jealousy involved too in w weird way. Choi Mushin 'owned' the FL from his point of view, he lead her on the whole time knowing what he did and he enjoeyd the cat and mouse game with her, but not without developing some mixed feelings for her, between fatherly, accomplice and some kind of attraction too.
So I do think he was jealous in the end, there was someone else who had taken what was his from his point of view on different levels, and he wanted that final confrontation and he knew he would get that if he killed the male officer he knew was her lover. He just knew she would then come for him out of sheer anger and hatred - and she did.
So I did think that storyline was sound. Sadly I found the final encounter fight badly unrealistic. It's especially sad because the whole show before they showed many realistic fighting scenes that really impressed me. Sadly, in the final, epic fight they resorted to unrealsitic stuff both characters who were fanatastically trained fighters would never resort to. But they wanted to show it in that Hollywood manner - that's why the show, which I thought was fantastic otherwise, 'only' got 9.5 instead of the full 10 from me. I wish they had done that last scene differently.
and I cried seeing that video without having seen the drama yet - watched the drama immediately after that and it's still one of my favourites because of Woo Do Hwans performance there
agree about Joseon Attorney, didn't like that one at all...but yes, he was good in 'save me' and also in 'the…
his main role in 'the king eternal monarch' as Jo Young - I totally fell in love with him and I cried in the end when I thought he was gone (and I don't cry often)
I don't think I can watch Lee You Mi, her acting could not be worse. it's a mystery how they give her new roles…

nah, I meant in my review I was only talking about Nam Ji-Hyun... your posting said 'you can watch HER preivous drama' - So I was assuming with 'her' you meant Nam Ji-Hyun, as I did not mention any other actress. But anyways.
Erm, you do realise that I am a woman? Why would I be jealous of how young or old a man looks? You do see my profile picture, - that's me. I don't have any reason to be jealous of anyone for their looks, and I don't need to use any filters on my pictures either. Also, me complementing the actor for his natural good looks is the opposite of being 'jealous'... but you know what, I'd recommend you read my last posting about people who are not able to understand the content of written text again Oo
and you are referring to who, might I ask? I can just guess of course that you mean all the people who can't read and understand written text are jealous of those who can write, read, AND make sense of the content? I'd agree ;)
I give up, as obviously (and I don't care if that sounds snobbish) you are not able to read and understand written text. I think I said multiple times that I like him as an actor. So___ I LIKE HIM AS AN ACTOR ___Please read and UN DER STAND Oo. End of message.
